Entering a villagers house... but they aren’t there?

I went to Genji’s house today. His lights were on, so I figured he was in, but when I entered he wasn’t there! I left his house and immediately noticed the lights were now off, and when I tried to enter again it said he was out. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else?

It's possible he left as you entered.

That happened to me the first week of the game!!! I think it happens if you walk in when they walk out

He may have been leaving the house as you entered tbh.

Had it happen to me once. When I exited the house, Zucker was walking outside the door.

Might bs a glitch. It would be cool if it wasn’t though. I remember you could actually do this in GCN

this happened to me too with skye's house and i freaked out! then i went outside and skye was exercising out there instead. probably just weird timing with their routines.

Tbh that was my first thought too! Still freaked me out to see a house with no villager inside (I didn’t play AC on GC so it’s totally new to me)
