true. i supposed both were off the limits though since the emulators can be "copyrighted" too.

Emulators are 100% legal and should not be against any rules to discuss or link to. The ROMs however....that's a bit of a grey area, and typically linking to them is not allowed anywhere. Discussion should be fine, sharing the actual files isn't. I've asked Staff their stance on the subject, awaiting a reply.

I've never actually heard of anyone actually being arrested or going to jail for having an illegal rom though.

As long as you don't upload a copyrighted rom, or link to one, you're fine.

Don't emulate illegal roms that you do not have a physical copy of.
