Empty plot on my island and hhp

Hi yall!
I have an empty plot on my home island. I am trying to get a villager on here but it's taking some time. So if I go to hhp island will that somehow cause the plot to fill? I know this is a dumb question i just want to make sure i dont lose the plot. thanks

No. You have to go to the mystery islands and pick up a villager you like there though Nook Miles Tickets, go to someone else's island when they have a villager ready to move out and talk to them, or just wait and eventually someone will move in.
