I have seen many guides on how to breed flowers/hybrids, but none of those seem to be working for me. I watered them also and placed fertilizer near the flowers.

I have tried these:
F - flower
Y - empty space

Figure 4 would be most effective. Figures 1 and 5 won't work because the flowers aren't touching. I've always used Figures 2-4 (depends on how many of the flower I have) and I have lots of hybrids. Good luck!

Ahh, I see. Thanks!

Any of the figures where the flowers are touching (they can be next to each other horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, but there can't be an empty spot right between them). How you lay them out depends on how many flowers you have and what you're trying to breed. You don't need an empty spot between the flowers because the hybrids will just spawn on the nearest empty spot (so just make sure there's an empty square next to them or something) and the flowers need to be close to each other.

It also helps if you draw the way you've placed them on a piece of paper or a text document, and then take notes on the flowers that spawn. They can spawn hybrids, but they can spawn flowers that look identical to them (and just have different genes) so you'll want to avoid ending up confused on which flower has what genes.

I use figure 3 and figure 4 and they work for me. If you do figure 3, you can simply place the fertilizer in the middle where it's empty.

But as long as flowers are touching each other they all have chance of spawning new hybrids.

There is no "proper" method. I think you mean effective, not proper.

Anyway, Figure 4 looks like it would have the best outcome.

I use figure 3 and 4 together. By watering only 14-ish flowers, I can usually spawn between 3 and 5 hybrids per day without fertilizer.

I believe 4 is considered to be the optimum, as it leaves the most space for them to spawn.

Oh, oops! I fixed that. Thanks for the advice also!

Yeah, I tried making more blue roses but the outcome are two white roses. W stands for white roses and B stands for blue roses.

I limited the diagram to a 3x3 chart-ish, there are free spaces around them and no nearby flowers.

Oh, I see, I think I was breeding flowers the wrong way at first. xD

If you already have blue roses, you don't need the white ones to get more. Just remove the white roses and place the blue ones together and they'll eventually spawn more blue roses. Hybrids with identical hybrids is the easiest way to get more of them.

The reason why you're getting white roses is because getting white roses is a lot more common and you're putting the blue and white ones together, so the outcome can be either more blue roses (less likely) or more white roses (more likely).

I've only gotten blue roses by chance since I haven't actively bred for them but if I'm not mistaken, the first step in breeding them is using a hybrid red rose, isn't it? If that hybrid red came from a white rose with a red rose, it could have passed down a white rose gene to your blue roses, making them spawn white roses, especially when next to white roses. That's just speculation on my part though, but yeah, if you already have blue roses just put them together, you don't need the white roses for that.

It's an old but good method, have beautiful ordinance on in your town and only water the flowers you want to breed.
If you already do this then with the other advice you should get hybrids sooner rather than later, good luck :)

Beautiful town ordinance is already in place, I put that once I became mayor. I recently water the flowers I am breeding when I have the time to do so. But, no blue roses, white roses, which is good because I need those too.

No no, they just popped out of nowhere when I started my town the next day. Then I watered them again and more white roses appeared. There are no other flowers or roses near the blue roses, or I think that my villagers just placed them there. I don't know. I'll keep trying. :)

Usually when I'm trying to breed, I get 4 of the same hybrid: ex. Pink carnations and put them like this
F: Fertilizer
C: Carnation
G: grass

G C G
C F C
G C G

There should be 2 or 1 flowers grown the next day I believe.

Yeah, I don't expect much though when I water my blue roses. Did the same trick and nothing happened. I'll keep trying though. Going through trial and errors.

I did most of mine using Figure 4. I can it the checkboard pattern.
The only time I changed it was for getting maybe special blue roses.
Place the Orange and Purple roses side by side and than left a space.

The X is the blank spot and any red rose found there I removed. Put them in a checkboard pattern.
It from the Youtube called The Forbidden Blue Rose.

Ooohh, I'll check the video out later. I think should help too.

White roses can pop up from blue roses, like I said, so don't worry. You should be getting more blue roses soon enough if you're putting multiple bunches of them together. Just remove the white roses as they appear and then plant them elsewhere or sell them, and water the blue roses.

It's also possible for villagers to plant flowers like that, especially since they tend to plant flowers by type (if you have a bed of roses, they'll plant roses around it too). It helps if you can move them to the beach. While villagers sometimes go to the beach and plant stuff there, it's much less frequent, and if you have a private beach they probably won't go there at all and will stick to the main one.
