I guess most of you know the diving trick but for the ones that don't know it yet: i am sure this has been post earlier but i will just post it again to refresh ur mind :3

You need:
A wetsuit
Flowers
Villagers :p

The basics of the diving trick is that you put on a wet suit, get in the ocean, swim to the farthest away corner, float there for 5- 10 minutes, swim back, and run around to see if someone will ping you. Just leave your 3DS open while you look around on tumblr for a bit and let your mayor get stung by 6724 jellyfish. :p Apparently doing this resets the villagers’ dialogue.

Normally one or two villagers will ping you, but it won’t always be a PWP. It can be about selling you something, buying something in your pockets, etc. The best way to avoid these conversations is filling your pockets with things they won’t want, like flowers or bells. (You can keep your tools in your pockets too.) They can still ping you about changing their catchphrase or something silly like that, but the chances of a PWP being suggested are much higher.

If you’re wanting a certain PWP suggested, like the fairy tale bridge or jungle gym, you’ll need to get it from a villager with the personality that goes along with that PWP. See this list for PWP/ personality pairs, and see this list for villagers’ personalities. Say you really want the jungle gym PWP, which comes from a lazy villager. You’ll need to trap the lazy villager in with holes (like this). This way you’ll know where he is so you can automatically run to him for him to ping you. I like to push the villager as close to the beach as possible so you can be sure he/ she is the first villager you see. This can take some time, but it’s been worth it in my experience. Obviously there are multiple PWP’s each personality can suggest, so it might take a few days to get the one you want.

Keep in mind you might need to do the diving trick two or three times before you’ll get a suggestion. Generally you can only get one PWP suggestion a day. I’ve heard of people getting more, but it’s rare and not really worth doing the diving trick for hours. I hope this helps! (From internet)

Remember to fill your pockets with flowers so the villagers can't give you new things..

wow that is awesome! i didn't know this lol

It works too to have empty pockets and no money. Sometimes if you still have money on you, they will want you to buy things from them!

I stopped carrying tools in my pocket when I tried this method. A villager will ping for a fish or bug to be caught. You have a open spot when you take out the fishing rod. Just carried shells around.
In my main town the diving trick worked all the time.
But in my side towns it didn't work. Every time it was just a catchphrase or something else.
What I found worked was just going about my daily things. Went off in a corner and harvest the perfect fruit. On the way back a villager ping for a PWP a lot of the time. Or when I was fishing and out of their sight they have pinged me when I returned.

Close your gates too if you play with them open a lot. I used to trap them, so I knew exactly where they are all the time, and as I do the daily routine, I'd run by, get the ping, if they didn't do a request, kept playing. What I noticed, if you pass the 1 hour mark without having gone into sleep mode, continuing to play but not talking to villagers, until a villager tells you to take a break, you won't get a ping.

I always use this trick.

But I'm not really concerned with PWPs that much, since my town is basically a mess. ; . ;

Yesterday I tried this about 20 times and didn't get any request, just pings for random things. I'm gonna try on my 2nd character soon where I have no friendship built up. Generally, villagers only ping me to move away when I'm using her. Wish me luck!

Good luck. I have no connection with my villagers either and they suggest a lot pwp's (lighthouse, police station, an arch thing)

Yes, but sometimes they give you random fre stuff like: Just take my shirt! So the best thing is to fill in with flowers, they can'tbbuy it, can't give you things, they can only ping you about their greeting or pwp's

I always do this and it works a miricale for me. It's a lot harder now though because I have unlocked all the smug peppy and normal villager pwps as well as the ones that any type can suggest. It means for the others, I have to tt an hour before they sleep so hopefully they are the only ones awake so they ping me more

You can only use your mayor to do it, no other characher

Well I was just about to try this with my secondary villager but I realized that since they're not mayor, they won't get any suggestions! Not sure what to do. :( I really want the rose arch!

Catching snowflakes is also a good way to get pings. Build a snowmam and spend some time walking around hunting for flakes. This method really helped me out.It seemed like the villagers were pinging me every few minutes. I became addicted to catching flakes because it worked so well, and ended up with a ton of ice furniture.

Also, remember that villagers will stop pinging after an hour of playing. So be sure to talk to one of them when you have been playing that long. They will tell you how horrible you look and that you should take a break. After you talk to them the pings will start happening again.

One more tip. Villagers are more likely to ping when you have a high friendship with them. I have 5 games and know this to be true.

It might be nicer to get the loudspeaker and call out for your prefered villager than trapping them in a hole.

Yea I use the flower trick and usually will get one each day. though the trapping villager doesn't seem to work for me
Ive been trapping Pashmina for days now, and she's the first villager I go to see, and NEVER have I gotten a ping from her
