Here is how you noobs can get the max out of a rock:

MMM
MRMH
MMH

M= Where the money will land R= Rock H= Hole

You will be standing where the money will land on the right in the middle row.

If you are using a normal or golden shovel, you will get 8,100 Bells, but if you have a silver shovel then you will get 8,500.(I am not 100% percent sure that it is 8,500 from a silver shovel)

for the bell trees i recomend 90,000 bells (90% chance) and you have to water them RIGHT ON IT everyday until its full grown.

Yer, each 1,000 Bells give it a 1% chance of bearing money bags as a fruit (eg, 10,000 Bells = 10%, 25,000 Bells = 25%)
But there is really no point in planting anything higher then 89,000 Bells, cause they bear with three 30,000 Bell Bags, so planting 90,000+ Will make tou lose money.
