As long as its going to net a substantial profit (which is will, its Earthbound), I feel Nintendo will go out of their way to get it out for VC, however as with all great VC games, they release them in a steady trickle, so expect Earthbound after a dry spell of good VC games.

^This. The fact is that they WANTED to bring EarthBound onto the VC, but the Nintendo of Japan didn't want them to make as many changes as the NOA wanted to.
