Anyone else think that EA's customer service sucks?

Basically what happened is that I lost my Sims 3 University Life disc. Before, I was able to make the change with EA and make it a digital download so that I wouldn't need the disk to play. Well. That didn't happen this time.

The person starts off the conversation like normal, asking what the problem was, then telling me that they will "do their best to fix it". So after that, they asked for my name. I was like "Gabriella" but whatever; that's happened before.

"Hi Gabriella how are you"
Well how do you think I am I can't play the game I've been waiting weeks to play -.-
So I replied, "I'm okay. I'm just upset about the game."
Many minutes of silence later, they ask for my product key. I give it to them. Then they're like, "can you give me just a few minutes?"
"Sure"
More silence and many minutes later,
"I just need a few more minutes."
Afterwards, I check the game when they told me to. Still need the disk.
"I still need the disk."
"No, you shouldn't need the disk. Try it again."
I still need the disk. I try 3 more times.
"Still need the disk."
"Okay, give me a moment."
Like, 5 more minutes later..
"You need to uninstall the game, reinstall it, then clear your cache. Let me know when you do so."

Sims games take like 10 years to install, so I had no plans on that BS. Plus, I have Sims in university. Wouldn't it ruin their game file and progress? So I ask that. Their reply?

"Alright so once that's done, clear your cache."

No help like always. I close out the conversation because they were just not helpful. Like, come on, EA. Not the first time I've had a bad issue like this either. I could tell like 6 more stories (okay maybe 4) but you know.. long posts? No one reads them.

How do you guys feed about EA as a company and/or their customer service?

They've had their ups and downs. They're getting slightly better as their DRM, Origins, isn't a complete trash that causes computers to freeze.

On the bright side, EA is one of the few only services that is willing to give out FULL refunds including cash back on digital games even if you don't like them. Unlike Steam...

There were times when they actually could help me register my products and they gave me free coupons. Not any cheap coupons like 20 to 50% off ANY game. I'm not sure if they still do this.

Believe it or not, I've never had service problems with them. It was their games and programs that gave me trouble, but as their costumer service, they did a good job.

Wow, I'm defending EA even thou I hate them... o.o

I don't like EA. Maybe I'm being biased, but they shut down Restaurant City and Pet Society, my two favorite games on Facebook. It was one of the only reasons I even had a Facebook account. What makes it even worse is that in Pet Society, EA held a Easter sale on CC (Pet Society Cash), and when it ended the next day, EA announced that Pet Society was going to be shut down. It pissed me off because imo that's considered a scam.

My experience with EA's customer support was actually one of the best experiences I've had with customer service.

Sims wasn't working for me either. The guy I talked to was polite and helped me really quickly. I think there are some elements to customer support.
BE NICE. They're people and they can make mistakes on purpose just to ruin your day if you're a jerk.

Holy cow, that is a scam. I'm shouldn't be surprised they'd do something like that though.

EA is terrible on the whole and that's pretty much all there is for me to say on the matter tbh. They're just awful.

I don't like EA much but with Sims they have come through for me. Several years ago I had trouble installing two of the minor Sims 2 expansion packs from the disks and EA support tried to help me, in the end they gave me free digital versions which actually worked.

Ebola-Arts is the best company ever though.
Where's my Fifa 16??? It's not even been a year but I demand the next installment of your worst looking game.

I just assume everything game they put out will be garbage until I see otherwise. That's why I'm sad they will be working on the next Stars Wars Battlefront. One of my favorite game series of all time and I have no hope for it whatsoever. :(

My father worked at EA for a bit. Needless to say he didn't stay long. That is all I have to say.

They're too buying trying to include it on the Wii, PS2 and 3DS again while skipping WiiU.

To be fair, the actual developers are DICE. Whether that's better or not is up to how you view DICE. They made Mirror's Edge, but they're also trying hard to match COD's regurgitation ratio with Battlefield.

I wouldn't say EA is 100% terrible, since they did bring us games like Mirror's Edge, Dead Space (not counting 3, oh god) and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Their stance on things is really questionable though, and they are in dire need of better management.

I haven't had issues with them... they're customer services was actually helpful to me.

They still suck tho
