Dreamies vs villagers you grow to love

I was just wondering whether anyone has the same problem as me. I've been having fun picking out my dream villagers, but then I go for a walk round my town and Curlos gives me a guitar as a gift, I see Alfonso wandering around looking silly in his duck t-shirt and Bianca just being her adorable self and I realise I don't want to let these villagers go!

Is anyone else torn between getting their dreamies and sticking with who they have, or am I just being tired and silly?

That has happened to me quite a bit. The term "dreamies" to me is more of my ideal ten villager list, and it changes pretty often. I'll sometimes adopt a villager who's being given away or about to be voided, or I'll make an impulse invitation to someone in my campsite. Occasionally though, someone will randomly move into my town and I'll grow to love them so much that I don't let them leave. In my last town, this is how I ended up making Beau, Pecan, and Phoebe dreamies. I loved the latter two so much that they're now on my dreamie list for my new town!

Yeah that happened to me, I came up with a list but I don't actually know if any on that list made it into the final cut for my town... Maybe Walker? Pashmina too, but I lost her and I cant go through cycling ever again ;u;

I mean, I had a lot of trouble letting Pango go, and Wendy, who I proceeded to get back on my new town. But it sort of went like this. Static was love at first sight, starter villager and I just went ohmygod who are you you are awesome you are never leaving. And I fell in love with Rowan, another starter. It was fate getting Walker in my campsite, and when I walked in to see Henry in my camp I just fell in love and spent the next two hours trying to get him to move in. Alice I hated as she destroyed my flower bed, I said yes to her leaving... But changed my mind the next day and now we're best friends. Melba was a you-can-temporarily-move-in-because-you-are-cute one, but I already had a normal koala, so I didn't need her too! But she stays. Lolly was a wifi, and she aint never leaving. Fang was a you-are-popular-i'll-sell-you and I did! for 10mil! But then when Pash moved out... I found myself searching for the wolf again (his catchphrase was Strawberry, come on!) and Cookie was a make shift to stop a random mover moving in.

I think ive covered everyone? I had a more set dreamie list for Sakura, it being; Diana (starter), Rudy (tbt), Stitches (tbt), Pekoe (previously owned so I thought why not, her 'owner' accidentally put her in boxes so I promised to take good care of her), Wendy (ilovehertoomuchomg) Erik (tbt, I lost auctions 4 times before I finally got him!), Marshal (omg I hated him so much for being more popular than my baby Static, so I plot reset for 4 hours as last time I had him I sold him for 30mil so I thought Tom Nook style...), Fauna (had in camp in Paradiso, and shes super cute so..), Lucky (had in ww and omg my baby), Curt (had in CF and love him and need him back since he moved out of CF)

I never made a list of dreamies. So, I could avoid that problem ^^
There are way to many great villagers

Basically Teddy, Tia, Marina and Diana for me . I wanted Kid Cat for a jock but Teddy was so cute when he get angry and the way he was surprise by how fast I can run was too cute to let go. Tia was just so adorable as she sat on the bench and smiles at me like an idiot. Marina was actually in my cycling town, I wanted to give her to someone who really like her but she refuse to move for 2 months despite constant cycling and time traveling... when she finally decides to move, I already liked to her too much to let go .... as for Diana, I also didn't want her at first and was trading/selling/giving her away all the time.... but she keeps moving back in again and again (I go through 16 villagers very fast in my cycling town) so when she moves to my main town (totally coincident too) I decided to let her stay .

Been there, I loved almost every villager I ever had, except Rory, and those that I couldn't find a new home for have their villager pic displayed in my museum in tribute (I still need to hunt down a Bella pic though). There are some I didn't like as much as others, like Rory, but some grew on me far more than I would've thought. I hated Octavian at first since he was right in front of my house and he refused to move at every chance but when a villager sticks around long enough to give you three villager pics then you warm up to them a bit, or develop Stockholm Syndrome... Either way I keep one of his pics in the exhibit just like the other voided. Still, evil-sounding letters and pitfalls are a lot more fun to direct at a rival than a villager you like.

Rory though, he crushed two cedar trees I placed and spread his shirt to four villagers besides himself. I hated that stupid periwinkle tee but over half my town was wearing it. Bangle, Bruce, Fauna... and Curlos... I saw Curlos talking to Rory and I tried to run over to intercept the conversation but it was too late and Curlos changed right in front of me. The sheep was already on thin ice after a fake painting so my response was basically "You have betrayed me for the last time Curlos!" So Curlos was the next to move after Rory. Rory was in my town for the shortest amount of time of any villager I ever had but in that one week he changed so much, the town of Crystal has never been the same. Every villager hit with The Curse of the Periwinkle Tee was voided except Rory himself who escaped last minute by someone with an all-lion town who happened to be looking for Rory on the day he was in boxes. Still, if there is one good thing to say about Rory it's that he left a story to tell. Perhaps in some ways that makes him better than the ones who came and went without trouble but I still resent him. He still appears in the shops area, mocking me... Conformity Rory, the lion who tried to convert my town to his periwinkle tee who ends up in an all-lion town.

When it comes to villagers I grew to love but couldn't find a new home for I tend to write short stories about them, I think there are villagers that grew on me more after they left than when I had them in my town just because I wrote stories about them and really got into a personal interpretation of each one, Curlos in particular despite the periwinkle tee thing (tbh I like how it translates to a scarf despite hating it as a tee but five out of nine villagers had it, at this point it was personal).

as this is my second Animal Crossing game, and I had no idea what New Leaf's community was like from the beginning, I just rolled with what I got.
I played New Leaf with the same relaxed approach I took to City Folk. so no dream villager list, nothing. even after joining this forum. meh. I did have one dream villager, that being Egbert.
now, since I reset... I've decided that my town will have 10 permanent residents eventually. 5 being the ones on my signature thing I made. almost all my permanent choices are I've just really grown to love. the only one that isn't will be my cranky choice, which might change. I'm debating on whether I want 2 jocks or what. 'cause if I do, then I want Coach, so I wouldn't want to have 2 bull villagers. so I'd like Camofrog as my cranky villager instead of Vic.
but like, Tammy. I was thinking I needed a new uchi in my life this time around. but she showed up in the campsite. and I was like "oh no. Tammy. I need her" aaaaaaaaand well, that was that. she's in Wakeport, and she's not leaving. ever. and Tex is the only smug for me. I need him in my life again, weh ;__;

My town is full of villagers I love to bits. Peanut, Merengue, Biskit, Ankha, and Beardo were all surprise move-ins, and they are all perfect. Never thought that I'd want another peppy besides Bluebear, or another normal besides Sally. And not in a million years did I think I'd like Beardo and his mustache/receding hairline. It just happened xD

Yup, though now my dreamies are actually villagers I've had in previous games but want back after a corrupt file. Even so some of the new villagers I've met are just as cool and hard to part with.

Some of my dreamies are villagers I had at the start and now I could kick myself for letting them go e.g. Lyman and Margie.
I have 5 dreamies atm, Julian, Mathilda, Skye, Freya and Moe.

I kinda grew on Blaire, but she asked to move and I replaced her with Freya. XD

Blaire's still in my void so I might see her in main street time to time.

Hehe, I'm glad I'm not the only one like this! I'm down to 8 villagers at the moment so I think I'm going to make the rest of my villagers permanent and just chase 2 dreamies - Ribbot and one more I haven't picked yet. Then if I do ever get a second game I can go dreamie chasing in a second town!

I was in this situation with Fauna. I thought she was really cute once I rolled into town but I've had thoughts of letting her go. Now seeing her on a daily basis she's grown on me a lot and I don't think I could let her go anymore. However, some of my 'dreamies' are villagers I've had in my previous towns that have grown on me that I'd like to experience again because of the little cute things they get up to in town.

I have this as well Daisy really grew on me and I would find it hard to let her go. I'm afraid it might happen with others as well :O For now I simply put Daisy as part of my dreamie list and took some out of the initial list. Good to know I'm not the only one with this experience.
