Hi! I cycle a lot and give away my villagers 99.7% of the time and I'm left wondering :

Is it important to YOU for your dreamies to be 100 % original?
I'd like to know why.
And what constitutes a "deal breaker" for you to pass on a villager (clothes, furniture, etc.)?

I would appreciate all opinions.
Thank you!

Oh and please finish with telling us your all-time favorite dreamie that you got and "lived with" for the longest time.

I think mine is Merry because she's so full of life and she's very well drawn.

I only want villagers from the campsite or by game design. I had someone move in from another town once and they were always singing their old town tune. It was a nice tune and it didn't bother me, but I'd prefer to have a villager who doesn't do that. I don't have any special dreamies. There are several villagers I would love to have, but I don't want them to be given or sold to me.

I hadn't thought about that town tune aspect. It is annoying at times.

I really don't care. ^^' I love the villager for them, not their house's interior or their shirt.

I prefer for villagers to at least be mostly original. Shirt and catchphrase don't matter much; they change those things on their own either way. But honestly, walking into a villager's home to see a ton of bugs and fish is kind of annoying. I used to give my villagers bugs and fish every time they requested them, but it got to the point that that's all their homes were - which really bothered me. Additionally, I can't say that this is personally true, but I know a lot of people probably feel that villagers can be "new" and "used." And typically, with material goods, people prefer to purchase unused possessions. That sounds kind of cold but I think I get that kind of vibe from others sometimes... not that it's totally a bad thing...

I don't have any specific dreamies. I used to, and I don't think having an unchanged house or having original clothing was a big issue for me. Changing their clothing back to their original shirt isn't too difficult, and besides, even if you do change it back, they're likely to change it regularly anyways. I do sometimes like villagers more if they have a well-designed house, but I always thought that the outside of the house was more important since it can have an affect on the overall look of your town. Anyways, my favourite villager is probably Phoebe, since I love every aspect of her design, as well as the exterior and interior of her house, but I don't go out of my way to preserve the way her house looks or the shirt she wears.

Honestly it's never been an issue for me. I would always prefer to adopt a villager as I would like them to carry on in the game.

I met a villager in WW once who spoke about their friend and how they hadn't seen them for over 700 days. 700 days and they still spoke about that person. It's more like life that way for me. I think it's sweet. I give so much love to my villagers that it saddens me for them to just end up in the void, unloved.

That's so sad! I actually like it when villagers talk about where they used to live, and it's cute when you go over to a friend's town and one of their villagers remembers you. It gives them a little more depth to their personality, in my opinion.

Exactly!! Of course it's a bonus when someone really tries to decorate that villagers house as well but it's not a deal breaker for me.

I prefer if they're original, but I don't really care. If I can get them original, that's great, if I can't, that's still great. I just want my baes lol.

Oh the "new" and "used" feeling is a good point!

It never bothered me if a villager was original or not. I care more about having them than what their house looks like or what shirt they're wearing. The only thing I care about is a "clean" catchphrase. Everything else can be fixed with enough work.

Do they talk about their friend in NL too? I've never seen that! Cute!

The only thing that is somewhat annoying is when they constantly reminisce of their previous towns.
It's lovely but getting the same dialogue 3 times in a row with unskippable town tunes becomes annoying.

Outside of that I don't really care, even if they've ruined their homes with sea bass and replaced their catchphrases with dumb words sooner or later you can change them to what you see fit.

i don't adopt villagers like ever, but i got flurry from here and she was 100% original. i guess for me, i like their being completely original because i typically don't like adopting. i don't know why, i just prefer getting them completely new? never been in any other towns? so i guess that's as close to it as i can get if i'm going to adopt.

Lol...I honestly thought that once a villager left one town for another that somehow their clothes and furniture would "default" to what they originally had..then I kept seeing people post things about having a villager being 100% original..Honestly to me, it doesn't matter if they have different clothes or furniture, what matters is that they are in my town chillin with me..

Kind of lame to me - I mean they'll change if you actually play the game anyway.

I only care if they have offensive greetings, catchphrases or if the town name they're from offends me.

I know the first two can be changed, but it's still more trouble than I'd like. Besides that, I wouldn't want to give someone who does such things anything for their villagers.

I never really cared for my dreamie's originality until recently. I guess it's just really fun to see a villager with all the items in thier house and their original outfit. I wouldn't call it a "deal breaker" because honestly, if it's a villager I really want, I'll take them, but I guess it's sad when they're not wearing their original shirt. Also my all time dreamie that I got has to be Jacques! I just love him so much ;; But about a year ago, he moved without me knowing, so I'm working hard to get him back.

Personally originality isn't something I really care about. My favorite dreamie is mira, and is also the dreamie I have had the longest.
