Don't you just love it when balloons are above the river? xD

I really hate it when balloons are above the river. I'm like, "really?.." I really want those balloons too, but I guess there just isn't much I can do... Anyone else dislike it when balloons are above the river? 🙂

oof i feel this. i also hate when they’re above a large patch of flowers or when i don’t notice there’s a balloon until it’s already floating above the ocean; it’s not too big a deal to me but i’m pretty impatient + i like shooting down balloons even though i don’t really need to, anymore 😋

I know that balloons LOVE to spawn on the same axis as where my western river runs on Arctin 😓

Thankfully, I don’t have as much of a problem with Evwirt, concerning rivers.Undergrowth, on the other hand...

Sometimes I think I should just have my hat on and make some land if the balloon is over the river. Of course I can wait, too. One time I shot a balloon and my present fell into the river. I ended up getting a Nook Miles accomplishment for it.

I've knocked them into the water countless of times from just being impatient haha. Now that I've had this layout for a while, I know the best locations on my island that are ideal for balloon shooting. If the balloon doesn't go towards that path (or I don't catch it at the shoreline first) then I usually ignore it. My island is pretty developed and some areas are hard to get around for balloon shooting.

What's more annoying than balloons above the river are balloons which showing up at the worst timing ever. I can't count how many I missed because I was terraforming/decorating my island and didn't had my slingshot with me, because I used the slots for shovels and axes. And if you have a slingshot in your pocket, then you see barely any balloons. I swear, they are trolling me. 😅

Try rare dragonflies that fly over the river faster than the game lets you change tools. Several times.

Yep, it is pretty annoying lol. Just as annoying as accidentally shooting a balloon down so it lands in a patch of flowers and just disappears 😶

i hate that, atm i want balloons because i need spooky diys, but my island is decorated with a lot of items and rivers everywhere and it sucks when they're above water or areas covered in things or flowers ;_;

I really hate it when you pop them by the edge of water and the balloon actually scoots over to fall in the water even though there's open space to fall on the grass everywhere else. Why does it hit the ground then bounce in the river? I find shooting down balloons can be sooo disappointing sometimes!

My problem has become flowers and furniture more now. Unless a balloon is over one of my paths it's dead to me.

Tip for those of you with long horizontal rivers, put a bridge at either side of it, the balloons will go around the bridge and then travel above or below the river. My starting map had a 3 acre long stretch of near perfect horizontal river and this stopped me having to wait ages for the balloon to get back over land.

Sometimes I actually waste time going into the terraform menu, create a temp bridge, and pop it, but it's never been worth it so far. So sometimes I just let them go by.

It's not so much balloons that I have issue with when it comes to rivers - but when I'm hunting Wisp Pieces, there's always ONE that floats above the part of the river that's fenced off, and never leaves it, meaning I have to deconstruct my island to get at it :/

the first balloon I ever shot down was over a river, super disappointing to not get the present but at least it gives you nook miles (I guess??)

yeahh this can be quite annoying, especially if you're hunting a seasonal diy or something ;v;. I also hate that popping them over flower fields makes the present disappear since there's nowhere for it to go.

most of my rivers run vertically across the map so that doesn't bother me much since the balloon will get past the river in a few seconds - what bothers me is when it's above one of my flower fields since they're pretty big so it takes a while for the balloons to get past them 😩 I don't really mind right now since I don't need anything from the balloons, but I'm hoping for better luck when mush season starts in the northern hemisphere!
