Donkey character?

I was thinking of making another character to lay down paths (right now I only have my mayor)
but then there's the aspect of where do I put the house and THEN I have to also pay to remodel it.
:/
Does anyone do this?
Can you give me your opinion or tips?

Yeah I have 2 alt characters.
Your best bet if you don't want a 2nd random human is to make the house themed as a public place. Like a restaurant or a bath house or a haunted mansion or a hotel or whatever. It's what most people do.
This way when you're playing you'll never see the character and will get to enjoy the public building, and for dream town visitors it makes an interesting thing to visit.
Personally I have one alt called Camper who lives in a messy tent (sloppy set, cans on the floor...) and another called Komainu who is dressed like a spirit (liondance mask and kimono) and her house is themed like an abandoned, haunted temple.

I have 2 human alts. I just try to make the character fit with the theme in that area. I have modern in the north, and zen/fairy-tale in the south. My second is going to be based on an everyday teenager/young adult since his house is close to the train tracks, while my 3rd is likely going to have a zen castle.
