Or even that you play animal crossing in general?
I'm not extremely open about it since it's sounds dumb when you say it out loud.
"I spent four hours today on the internet with my game, spending fictional money of fictional items and characters and selling fictional items to people all over the world, yet I feel like a accomplished something important!"
I was trying to explain to my mom what I was doing the other day and it went something like this:

* I was trying to explain the shopping aspect of the forums*
Me: .......it's kinda like the want ads or ebay, if there are people from all over that have or want special items or
certain villagers, they can look for them here; and they can pick up or deliver them in their towns.
Mom: So, they know where they are? To find the towns?
Me: Well, not specifically, it's helps if you list what time zone you're in, though.
Mom: They can just come in any time? How do you know who they are or who you are?
Me: People can only come if I have their 3ds code and I have my gates open, I'm just a username and a town name.
Mom: ...So they don't know where you are?
Me: No, it's just a town name, it doesn't say anything but that. We also have transaction ratings, like ebay, to weed out the bad players.
Mom: Ok, that's good. Where is the person who's there now from?
Me: Uh......New Zealand.....
Mom: Oh. everywhere, everywhere. You be careful.
Me: Ok Mom.
Mom: Also be nice.
Me: Yes Mom.

My mom knows, but I just explained it as "an Animal Crossing site where you trade with people." All she said was, "Don't give out any personal information!" Sorry Mom, but I need to show everyone my birthday so that my friends on the Internet can make me feel good about myself.

My whole family has played Animal Crossing.
My parents only played the original Animal Crossing for the Gamecube.

All 8 people in my family played the Animal Crossing: Population Growing for the Gamecube.

My older brother, older sister, younger brother, and I played Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Everyone of my siblings but the youngest out of the six played Animal Crossing City Folk.

One of my younger brothers was the first to play ACNL but now every one of my siblings play.

I am the only one in my house that uses online sites such as TBT for Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Each one of my siblings and even my Mom are critical in my being involved on TBT, specifically.

My whole family used to play accf religiously back in 2008 and everyone still occasionally plays on our wii, and my mum and I frequently play acnl together on our 2 3ds'; so it's safe to say that we're definitely all fans c: my mum thinks the forum is really cool and I often get items for her character and house on here :D I'm glad that my family is cool with it haha

I really wish that I grew up with a video game-loving family, but it just didn't happen for me. My mother especially just thinks it's dumb stuff for children, and if you're still playing them at 20+, you're not a real adult.

My family doesn't know I go on the forums. Besides, I'm perfectly harmless anyways in reality.

i didnt tell them until week 3. i told them i was just trading for stuff, it wasmt untill month 4 until they found out i was doing stuff in
" the basement " fourm

I think it's hard enough to explain to my parents how to use youtube no need to overload their minds that the internet is a lot bigger than youtube and facebook lmao..... And besides why would I tell me parents what I do online anyways.

Nope atm they don't know about this site. :p
I'll probably tell them some point in the future.

yeah, i told them pretty quickly actually. my parents are very easy for me to talk to because they trust me to be responsible online, and it helps that acww was basically a family obsession when it was still a thing.

Yes, they know about it a lot. I tell them all about it. They were even proud of me for winning the Tetris Grid collectible from the TBT Fair.

( tho it shoulda been more realistic.. I mean in no universe will you get a Tetris like That )
My siblings know and don't care. My lil brother loves Acnl too, In fact he only played because I had it then he wanted it :),he was simply amazed when I got a good deal on the modern, sleek, modern wood set and a few others :)
He was also interested by the Tia vs mereugue war I even offered to let him used my older account but.. he doesn't use tbt and I don't mind..

My family has known my involvement in online forums since I was a kid so if anything they are just surprised I still go on them in my mid twenties lmao. My family understands obsession with games (my parents love mobile games) so they don't exactly judge when they see me playing on my 3ds and posting on the forums simultaneously, but their games don't require online or multiplay so they don't see the reason for it.

A bit, my boyfriend is on occasionally to talk to me mostly while I'm at work, but I've talked about it especially when I'm doing contests because my sister and mom will be like "wtf are you doing cutting cheeses into pixels?" and I'm like "it's for a forum..." -_-

my dad knows since september 2015 when i opened tbt on his laptop and forgot to close it , my mom knows a bit too.

otherwise , no one in real life knows my existence on these forums , when i tell to my friends irl about my internet friends i never say how i met them and my family (aunts , uncles , cousins , etc.) don't need to know about my internet life.

infact , if i had closed that tbt tab 2 years ago , pretty much NO ONE in real life would know about my existence here. Im pretty quiet about my internet life and its something i rarely talk about.

also , about AC games : my family knows i like animal crossing , but nobody in my family has ever played (im the nerd of my family tbh) , my friends know but they dont like it.

Where i live animal crossing is not popular , its even less popular than in Canada or United States.

Yeah I've told my mom I'm on a game's forum and I guess as long as I don't do bad things she's not too caring lol. But yeah I order stuff and do other things online all the time so yeah as long as I don't waste/do bad things, yeah she don't care.
