Hi! I'm making a villager room and right now I have 47 items in my room. (1 is reserved for a villagers pic) so I tried to put 2 things in my room I put the first one in with no problem (so I had 48) but when I tried to put the other thing in it said there wasn't enough room. So does the wallpaper and flooring count or is the limit 48?

I never thought of that. o-o
I know you always have wallpaper and flooring in a room, it can't be taken down to nothing. Wallpaper and flooring can only be replaced by another.

You could try replacing the wallpaper/flooring with a pattern to see if that makes a difference! :)

The limit is 48, not including wallpaper/flooring (or "dropped" items such as tools, saplings, lost items, harvest festival ingredients, etc. Basically any items that aren't furniture or wearables, I think.)

The limit is 48, not counting wall/floor and anything you can walk thru (bag of flowers, tools, gems, rolled up wall/floor or whatever).

It also goes to note that bigger items seem to take up more of that limit. I tried adding a 1x1 item to a room I was experimenting with in the museum and was told the room was full. I took out a 1x2 item and was able to place two more items. So perhaps the limit isn't 48 physical items, but 48 spaces worth of items? I'd love for someone to check and second this.
