Does the zen bell do anything?

I've noticed that the zen bell looks like it has doors in front of it, does anything pop out of the front?

What doors do you mean? It just rings if you interact with it. The zen clock has a little guy that pops out on the hour, though, if that's the PWP you're thinking of.
