Does the starting dialogue with Isabelle decide your fruit?

I chose 'am I in the right town' > I'm not the mayor > Hey! Wait! And got peaches x 2
Chose 'you're confused' > confused > 'No. Ummm' and got cherries x 3

Possibly?! The only thing is when you make a new town, when you're arriving on the train, sometimes you can see a fruit tree close to the train tracks, which lead me to believe the fruit is already pre-determined?

Something worth playing with a little bit more though.

It took me an hour to find a town with apples and I picked the same dialogue (the first option) with Isabelle every time. Most of them time I got peaches or oranges.

I'm pretty sure that when reseting I've seen a few times a fruit close to the train tracks, so no, I'd say it doesn't decide or influence anything.

Aww yeah it's predetermined then if there's fruit near the tracks! It's just that the conversation with Isabelle seems so unnecessary really that I was wondering if it had an effect but I guess not one that we know of!
