I know in previous games the basement was a safe haven for dumping your crap you didn’t want to be part of your score. (so. much. effing. balloon furniture. *twitches*) I haven’t seen any confirmation one way or the other whether it works the same in this game, does anyone know? If not, when I decorate my basement I’ll probably put what I expect to be the lowest scoring room down there. Since we have the storage now I don’t need to shove all my ugly furniture in the basement.

(seriously, thinking about that one dresser of storage space that filled up in a week in NL is giving me trauma flashbacks.)

They do...because the HHA constantly sends me letter about how my basement is littered with the unstorable recipe duplicates :v Not sure what Nintendo wants us to do with them since I can't store them, but they bring down the island rating and your house rating :v

Yeah I’ve resorted to giving most of mine away, if I wait until I find someone willing to actually pay things get out of control FAST.

I understand why turnips can’t be stored, as irritating as it is, but I have no idea what they were thinking with the recipes, especially since the animals giving you cards they acknowledge you already have implies they want trading to occur.

If I can't give my dupe DYI's away in a timely manner I sell them to Nooks...

It does grade your basement. I filled it with random junk and got a score and I give dupe DIYs to my other account or sell them.

i save the diys to give to my friends if they need them, and sell them if everyone has them. but finding time for everyone to check is hard and things just get out of control fast lol
