does sending a melody letter increase the friendship of villagers more?

I think it would, but I really don’t think it makes a difference.

All it does is when they show/play it to you, you can't shut it off. You have to wait until it's finished playing.

I sent one, then got Isabelle to stop that villager showing me the letter.
