Does rotten fruit lower town rating?

I've been harvesting perfect trees and a lot of them are dying so I'm thinking of leaving all the rotten fruit on the beach as a memorial of sorts.

I know that fruit on the ground does not lower the town rating but furniture and such does. What about rotten fruit though? Since... well... you know. It's rotten.

Rotten fruits do count as trash. If I look at thonky for example it says normal fruits are an exception, which would mean rotten fruits aren't.

Sort of off topic, but I always bury my rotten fruit then dig up the dying sapling to keep myself from having to pay the disposal fee :3

You really need to get a bin in your house. If you don't have it catalogued, I can:
a) Let you catalogue it now
b) Just give one (full of rotten peaches) to you later and re-order one of my own

Keep it in your locker. Pull it out to dispose of something and then put it back in your locker.
