Yes, I know there is autosave, but hear me out

If New Leaf, the game would save while it prepares the town for you, so that you'd be stuck with house placements unless...You made a new character.

New Horizons may autosave, but since you must place your tent down, saving shouldn't happen. At the begging of days we suspect a new villager reserving a lot to move in, could one make a new character and check to see if the plot has been reserved? If it has, and they dislike the villager, they could quit and start over, right?

unless someone else already knows the result of this, I'd be happy to give it a try next time one of my villager moves out so i can let a rando move in! this would be a great strat to get the new villagers if it works

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work because of auto save but I'll try it out and let you know

Thanks. I was thinking autosave would be disabled because without the tent, the character technically doesn't exist, and there is nothing to save.

It doesn't work, the second you get out of the short tutorial Tom Nook give you, it saves the game
