Yes, I know there is autosave, but hear me out
If New Leaf, the game would save while it prepares the town for you, so that you'd be stuck with house placements unless...You made a new character.
New Horizons may autosave, but since you must place your tent down, saving shouldn't happen. At the begging of days we suspect a new villager reserving a lot to move in, could one make a new character and check to see if the plot has been reserved? If it has, and they dislike the villager, they could quit and start over, right?
