Does Happy Home Paradise need Internet to play?

Do you need Internet to play Happy Home Paradise if you buy it outright instead of through the subscription?

Not sure about about if you buy it outright but I tested it myself (I have it with NSO) and it worked fine for me without being connected to the internet.

1. Purchase it.
2. Download it.
3. Access an optional feature used in the DLC.
