Does anyone else’s frame rate drop significantly while dreaming?

I’ve visited two dream islands so far and experienced my frame rate dropping a lot on both of them. Has anyone else experienced this?

They were both quite densely packed with stuff but it was pretty much unplayable it was that slow!

I think this happens on their actual island too. There was a island tour video of a hogwarts island and the creator said there was a lot of frame dropping issues too.

The dreaming pretty much loads their whole island onto your switch while connected to the internet. I would avoid those densely packed island but the creator would need to be responsible with informing people if they care enough to.

Yes I have! My frame rate is often slowish on my island (especially in the waterfall areas) but I’ve never experienced anything like this. The last island I visited was heavily decorated (and absolutely incredible), but the frame rate drop made it feel like I was running at half the normal speed.

I see! Thank you. ☺️ I experience some frame rate drop on my own island in areas where I have a lot of hybrids so that would make sense!

Thank you, glad I am not the only one. It’s such a shame because the island I just visited was so pretty as well but I just couldn’t stay and finish looking around because it honestly was running at half the speed. 😞

I would think this would mirror what it would be like to visit their island in real time rather than being specific to dreaming.

The frame issues in the game make me hope they have a pro version of the switch planned down the line.

Haven’t experienced this yet though that’s not saying much as I’ve only visited one dream island.
But as others say that’s probably not the fault of the dream suite. That’s probably how it is if you visit their island too, especially if there’s a lot of decor/furniture focused in one place.

Yeah I had an area covered in flowers before and everytime I walked through it my frame rate significantly dropped. I went to one island so far that was densely packed and it was pretty annoying to walk through because of the lag

It's hard to imagine their actual islands being like that to play in because it was unplayable, but perhaps they primarily play on the TV!

yea the switch is pretty underpowered. I was hoping for a core update with the previous remake (to the red box) but it was mainly battery upg. My stardew farm with 8ish bits graphics suffers from having too many pigs the frames were not manageable and it took forever to correct it.

No, not yet and hopefully not ever. I’ve been on suuuuuper cluttered islands and still no drop, so I think it’d take something really really just... stuffed full to the brim for my switch to react 😂

Pretty sure it depends on the island. I’ve seen videos of people playing on their own (very crowded/densely packed) islands even before the update and the frame rate drop was insane.

My island is very sparse so I have no issues. I also visited a well decorated island but not overly packed in a dream and it was fine.

I've only had the happened when an island had a bunch of waterfalls other than the it hasn't been to bad.
