Wishy the Wishing Star? I've seen lots of YT videos about characters that haven't retuned to NH, and even text-only characters, like Clerk and Telephone, but no-one seems to mention Wishy ... ?

I had forgotten about wishy now I want them to bring wishy back. I don’t see anyone mentioning Serena from City Folk. I liked Serena even though I never got the gold axe from her.

i remember wishy! the first time that i made wishes in nh, i was definitely expecting a letter from wishy the next day but was surprised to get star fragments instead! an underrated character but i honestly do miss them a bit ;^~^;

omg i miss those letters from wishy! the simpler days when all you had to do was wish on one star lol but i guess it would be hard to implement star frags if we could only wish one time a day. i kinda miss Blanca too, drawing her a funny face was always a good time.

I think I remember getting Wishy once. Doesn’t it only give a cheap piece of furniture for wishing on a star in previous games? I feel like if it was added back in it would have to be reworked heavily to keep them from becoming Wisp 2.0...

Perhaps if they ever upgraded the Musuem to have a Observatory for Celeste (which she'd only be in on non-starry/no meteor shower nights), you then can put star fragments towards completing constellations, which after making you can observe through the telescope. Which goes into a viewpoint through the telescope which you can control to look for the finished constellations. After completing one or on random nights, you may spot a glowing star somewhere, by pressing a it glows brightly. The next day you recieve a letter from Wishy and a gift; usually a furniture item that has a different variant to the ones locked to your island and nook's cranny.

Serena could be a Nook Miles Reward, being a large fountain, that between midnight and 5 am, if you toss a gold tool in, she can double the amount of use (making it permanent would break crafting in my opinion).

Gulliver doesn't need to go into space, but I always thought it be fun for a little beetle astronaut to replace him for that mechanic. Very similar, shoot it down, find the parts, return to the beach to repair it and receive diys from a new alien furniture set. The beetle could also be funny in the sense that it is frightened that you catch bugs in nets on this planet.

I definitely remember. I don't recall getting any interesting items from Wishy tho

I miss Wishy, but his prizes weren't anything special. The letters were adorable, though.
