Does anybody know the max number of clothing you can gift a villager?

Gifted whitney around 4 pieces of clothing and was wondering how many she could fit in her wardrobe before I assume she gets rid of the oldest piece of clothing

I gifted Graham a lot of clothing and I see him wear them every once in a while. It does depend on their preferences though (e.g. cool, simplistic, cute) and their favourite colours

So, if I keep giving my villager more than 24 clothes, the outfit he got from someone else will be overwritten eventually?

I adopted Rolf from someone and he wears this suspender outfit that actually becomes a dress on him. When he wears it, he looks looks like a huge little girl and it annoys me. So far I've given him 6 tops and 1 cap.
