Do you write letters to your villagers?

I send at least 4 villagers a letter every time I play if I can. I also add in a small present in every letter too. Maybe fruit or furniture?
The idea is really cute and I love seeing their replies to my messages

Back when I played on GC with my family, I would write letters expecting the villagers to show them to my sister. So I'd write something funny like "I know I'm your favorite" or something silly. Now that I play on handheld, I find that I only write letters when I to get MEOW tickets.
