When you select your map on your Nook Phone, there should be an option asking you how you want it displayed while playing the game. I don't remember all the details, but it's not difficult fortunately.
I do. I Iike to use it when decorating. Gives me a sense of space. Plus I try have my map be not fully symmetrically but have symmetry . So it helps with that.
It's off while moving but tbh, I don't really use it anymore as I know my way to my own island anyway lol, but I do use it on other people's town but on my own, it's still on but I never (never's a big word lol, I mean I do get a glimpse of it but I don't "look" at it because I'm lost or something lol) look at it anymore...
Mine is always off but sometimes I'll turn it on when I'm landscaping. Recently I've been laying down paths and stepping stones so the flow of my town would show up and make sense on the map and it's easier to do this with the mini map in the corner.
I've had it set on always off ever since the beginning of the game x)
If I get lost of other people's islands and need to see it, I just open the map app. I think it just felt too big for me, I didn't want it to take up a whole corner of my screen :p
It is a good idea to turn it on while terraforming! I'll have to think about that when I eventually get around actually terraforming my island lmao, it's just been a little mess for a while (even tho I get people telling me it's cute haha)
i have mine set to always on! it's a habit i picked up from playing games like csgo or league where having the minimap is essential ;; it just doesn't feel right to have it off lol
I find it helpful to look at after ive done aome terraforming, just so i can get a ‘birds eye view’ of the entire island and so i can see the damage i have done to my island lol
Mine is off while moving. I honestly don't even notice it most of the time, but it's somewhat useful for when terraforming and definitely while on someone else's island. Though, I do still need to check the larger map when looking for a particular villager's house.
My map is off while moving. I had turned it off at one point for recording something and forgot to turn it on. It took me a while to notice since I don't need it on my own island xD
I set it to always off; I prefer to not have it obstructing my view. The only time I turn it on in my own town is if I'm using the island designer app and want to make sure something is lining up right.
