I love captions, they help with my adhd for some reason :ROFLMAO:

I rarely use them. I prefer to watch them without. The only exception is with anime. I prefer watching dubbed but if there isn’t one, I need the English subtitles with the subbed version.

My favorite anime of all time, Eyeshield 21, doesn’t have a complete dub (the dubbed version ended at six episodes, I believe) so I was forced to use subtitles.

Nearly all the time since I could mishear something and to make it easier to understand.

I do sometimes. Especially recently after it's been noticed I constantly miss things that are being said.

I use subtitles for anything that's not in English, otherwise I generally leave them off. In a sort-of-weird case when I binged Aggretsuko, I left them on for the sole purpose of translating signs and phone texts within the anime that were still in Japanese. For some odd reason, a few episodes had completely wrong captions as if a different team of translators listened to the original Japanese audio and did their own dub, despite an entire English dub already being available. In this case, I had to avoid looking at the captions when not needed, otherwise my brain would not be able to comprehend "two" conversations.

The only time I use them is when I'm trying to watch tv and my little brother is screaming at his friends on the mic when playing Fortnite
Otherwise, nope

I don't use captions but due to a partial loss of hearing I use headphones when I watch TV and play video games.

Always. Somehow they help me to pay attention AND they make it much easier to keep track of what's going on. I even use them on shows I've watched a million times already. They really help me to stay focused.

Yes.

Helps to know what a character said without having to look it up later, for example

Yes, mainly because I can't live without them lol. Not to mention there are times where a character talks in a low voice or is far away from the main character, making it hard to hear them talking, so it helps out.
