It's not cheating if it's allowed by the developers. They give you the option, and there are barely any consequences. If they didn't want us TTing, they would have made all our villagers move if we passed an entire week. -.-
 
I agree with you. I don't like the idea of it. I like to just wait around and hope I get what I wanted, without having to time travel to get it.
 
I TT. In my main town I usually do it for trades, rather than day-to-day stuff like fruit/shopping/etc. It makes trading a heck of a lot easier. :)
 
I don't mind it. It may be considered cheating but I don't really care. I only really TT to go to next day if I'm bored and have done everything possible in that day. And sometimes I do it for breeding hybrids and to go to boxing days for people who want them. Call it what you want.
 
I don't time travel in the stereotypical sense - I just play one day, then skip to the next day and play it, and so on. Since most people seem to consider time traveling = literally skipping a few days/weeks ahead without playing each individual day.

Frankly, I don't see the problem with either. Some people just get their knickers in a twist over it because they're envious that people are getting/unlocking things quicker than they are. As if it's some kind of competition.. -snort-
 
I never did, then had to to try to get a villager out for someone for a trade. I traveled forward day by day so as not to lose villagers, and ended up going over a month into the future. Still didn't get her out. >:l Anyways, I am now back at the normal time and don't really want to TT again. Nothing went wrong, but I found it tedious to go day by day talking to everyone, and also stressful because I was worried about losing villagers. I just found myself not really wanting to play anymore because it wasn't fun for me. :c

But like I said, it's normal now and no harm done. Took me a full day just to clean up my town though, dig up all the gyroids (so...many...gyroids...) and pick all the random flowers and such.

Oh, but I'll still TT to the moving date if I want a villager out sooner for someone. Now that I've done it I don't mind. Also, the good news is I unlocked the last Nook upgrade because Gracie showed up a lot while I was TT'ing, aha. So in the end I guess I ended up a little better off.

Ugh, too many gyroids.. .-. I dug up five once.. ugh.
 
^ It rained so much while I was TT'ing I'm not even kidding I must have dug up like 30. o-o I know I filled my inventory at least twice with them. And then I had to go through them all to see which ones were duplicates, it took a while.

theres nothing wrong with it

usually its for villager trades
i havent timetravled so much since the beginning, but now im timetraveling a lot since i need to kick villagers out

I TT'ed in the most rainy week ever and then I tried to find the fossils. T_T
 
I only time travel to move out villagers for trades, anything else makes me feel like I'm cheating. I'd much rather play the game at my own pace. I don't really understand why some people make a big deal out of it though? Each person gets enjoyment out of the game in different ways, so just accept it and move on. It's not hurting anybody.
 
I only do it when I need to get a villager out for a trade. It's never rained in my town so I've never found a gyroid :(
 
I don't Time Travel, but I wouldn't say it's "cheating." Personally, that would offend me a little if I TTed, as if you were accusing me of doing something wrong. And no, Time Traveling isn't wrong. Like ZanessaGaily said, the developers wouldn't have allowed it if it was cheating. In some ways it's even a better advantage to Time Travel than to not Time Travel! :)

I don't time travel. I consider it cheating. I didn't even time travel to go back and not miss Apollo's birthday.
 
There is nothing wrong with it.
I don't TT in my main town but i TT in my giveaway town. So many people dont like it but its how a lot of people even get their dream villagers in the first place.
 
I TT backwards to the last day I played and go from there. Because I don't play on a regular basis (as much as I want to) I try to make up for the days I've missed. Otherwise, I'd have no KK songs, so art items from Redd, I'd still have my 4x4 house and all of my neighbors would be crying to me about "why were you gone for so long!" making me feel like a crummy mayor. Currently, I just finished the bug-off for July.

I do not TT forwards to a future date then go back to my original date. That's too timey wimey for me :p
 
I reset my town and I restarted my day to June 9th. So I'm slowly catching up to the current day. I'm currently on July 28th. Sometimes I travel a couple days at a time. That's my time travel I guess
 
I don't TT, but if the option is in the game, then it is perfectly fine to do so.
I mean to say that if Nintendo didn't want you to TT, they would have took it out off the game. Surely?

That's your opinion. Doesn't mean TT'ing is cheating. v-v

I TT for hybrids and also because there is only so much to do in 1 day~
