Do you tend to go after dreamies, or do you like being surprised?

i used to have set dreamies. but i hiatus too much so i always lose them after i spent so much time and tbt getting them to begin with. so now i just find whoever i want and cycle them out all the time so i always have new villagers coming and going.

I've looked at every villager design for Animal Crossing New Leaf and found a few I like and a lot that I'm either indifferent about or dislike. As such, I frequently utilize the Villager Trading Plaza to acquire my dream villagers. I might have enjoyed being surprised before I knew what all of the villagers looked like, but now I know what I want and would rather not settle for anything else.

I don't have a long list of dreamies and favorites, but if I do, I sort them out depending on which theme I'm trying to do to my town. In my current town, I was planning to do an anime/mascot-themed town and Genji's one of the original villagers which I'm really happy about! It meant 1 out of 4 when I got him, because that means I'm going to get Snake, Ken, and Zucker soon. I did get Snake eventually! I only had 4 dreamies in mind, so the rest are random villagers and I'm fine with them as long as they won't screw up my town's design. But I was quite surprised that I grew fond of Fang and Chief, even if they're out of my plan!

I rather go after dreamies, because whenever I do surprise I always end up with villagers I can't stand!
Forcing myself to be nice to them to leave! Hugh

Hugh is awesome though! I remember having him back in Wild World and his eyes are really cool. His mouth is especially cute haha.
I currently have him in my town together with Crackle, both coincidentally because of voids/random move-ins. I'm going to let go of one of them though because two pigs is a bit boring for me, especially if both the same personality. I currently have 3 lazies I believe. :P

i do a bit of both! i go after dreamies, but since it takes very long to get one, i would usually invite villagers in my campsite to stay in my town. for me, it's a way to make the game a little more interesting.

I'll just try to have as many villagers as possible in my town. If I don't love them, they can move out. As long as I don't hate campers, they can move in. Only exception is when I check this thread, then I'll take giveaway villagers I really like.

I usually just like being surprised. While there are villagers I would love to move in, I am patient enough to wait until they naturally do so.

I go after dreamies. I'm too picky for random move-ins (thus my plot-reset row of villagers) Like others said, it's a goal to achieve (and I have achieved it..then I decided I wanted new dreamies instead xP) but my ultimate goal is to have a dream town that's worth visiting, and the first step to be able to do that is to have all of your villager spots figured out. Sometimes I feel bad because I know I'm not giving other villagers a chance..but perfectionists like myself can't have random move-ins.

This was an incredibly long post ~woops~

For the first time in this town, I actually moved a villager into my town from another town. It was Ankha, who I invited yesterday. I wanted a new villager and since the random move-in didn't hurry up and the campsite remained empty, I decided to pick up this snooty. I'm not sure how I'll like her, but we'll see. I don't like much of the snooties so I thought I should give those I think I may like a chance, because the chance I end up with a snooty I fully like is quite slim.
She's not a dreamie though, and I have to say that although she seems to be high tier, that doesn't make me like her more or less.

I like random ones, the surprise is more fun for me. But if I were to randomly get certain villagers (Vesta, Tangy) they aren't allowed to leave :P

I'll take whoever I get, since for me, I like having the joy of getting to know the villagers and both of us becoming friends over a period of time :)

I was fortunate enough that 9 out of 10 of my villagers that live in my town I really love, and since I started playing 3 months ago, I don't let them leave, since I've gotten to know them really well :)

The 10th villager, Charlise, who moved into my town a week after I started playing.... urgh (charlise greeting intended), I can't wait for her to leave. I feel like I've done something really creepy when I'm around her XD

If I have the bells to get a dreamie, I normally buy them. Surprises are nice, but if I'm gonna put effort into a town I want the villagers that I like.
