Do you tend to go after dreamies, or do you like being surprised?

I only have a few dreamies. Everytime I have a slot open for two I would adopt one because I don't want to risk a villager moving in on bad spots or just being unwanted.

I have a theme town, so I'm going after certain villagers that fit the town. If I had a second copy, I'd probably let it be a chill town having a few dreamies and let the rest swap. :3

I love surprises too. And 4 of my villagers I invited from other towns.

My originals are Julian, Chief, Pashmina, Goldie (I was pretty lucky).

Freya, Marshal and Stitches and Genji I invited from other towns.

Punchy and Tabby were random move ins, I really like them even though Tabby screwed up a whole area when she plotted her house. She is right in front of my main bridge coming up from the beach and in the middle of a path and landscaped area :(

I'm trying to form an entirely cat town but I ended up liking camofrog. So idk. I think I'll finish getting an entirely cat town but slowly let them move

I like surprises, since you never know whose going to show up at your campsite or move in. I slowly let a villager move out, and Diana moved in afterwards! She wasn't a dreamie until after I got her. Even though you have villagers in your town that aren't dreamies, they really grow onto you. Non- dreamies should be given a chance.

i mean my town has a theme which is a forest and having animals like octopuses or gorillas wouldn't really fit if ya catch my drift

Gorillas would actually work well, if you're going for a tropical forest. But I guess you are going for a more Scandinavian forest. :)

I'm a bit like you, Buttons. I have villagers I would love to have in my town (Bones, Annalisa, Zucker) but I'm not going to buy them. When they come to me then I will be a happy bunny.

i go after my dreamies. sometīmes, surprises are unpleasant. im talking about you, cesar and winnie.

I go after dreamies, but I'm way more casual and who and how much I do it than I was way back...

^ lol relatable. i usually go after my dreamies cause surprises arent rlly my thing. but sometimes i get surprised with cute villagers (that aren't my dreamies), like when i got Bob and Marshal, and days later they're my fav villager. and sometimes, it's a cute villager that i wouldn't consider a dreamie, like Gala and Bluebear. other times, it's just pure ugliness like Diva smh

I spent two towns with surprises and my first town I was pleasantly surprised, though after the Quillson incident in my second I told myself I'm just going to go after dreamies, but I have way over 10 dreamies(More like 20), so I can switch it up, but this town I have a few set in stone.

I like to go after my dreamies! It's very accomplishing to obtain them. I also need them for the purpose of fitting my town theme. That said, I don't mind the surprise. In my first ACNL town it was always surprises! I only hated it when they moved into terrible spots because I didn't plot reset lol.

Yeah I mean, if I get dreamies as campers or people offering to sell/give them to me, then I take the chance if I'm not full at the times already and I post in that thread when I am available. Sometimes I take in people from campsite that I kinda want so I don't get ugly void/random move-in instead.

Getting your dreamies gives you a great satisfaction, but lately animal crossing has become a little monotone for me. I mean, seeing your favorite villagers in town is great, but I can?t help feeling like getting bored with them, specially after you know them for a long time, lol, at least for me, I seem to know almost every of their dialogues, I wish they could do more . I kinda miss getting exited with new villagers, making friends with them, and then letting go. I guess this really comes down to personal taste, but it seems to me that there is more trill in getting random villagers, and maybe get one or two dreamies ( Even better if they arrive by random move in!). I wonder, is the "One year challenge" worth it?

I don't really buy dreamies, but if they randomly move into my town or camp in it, I'll be more than happy to accept them.

I rather go after dreamies, because whenever I do surprise I always end up with villagers I can't stand!
Forcing myself to be nice to them to leave! Hugh
