Do you tend to go after dreamies, or do you like being surprised?

I'm very curious, do most of you eventually go after dreamies, or just like being surprised, or taking what you can get? While I have some villagers that I adore, I don't actively go after them, and I'm quite happy with the way my village is now. I'm curious if other people do this, or if you like going after dreamies!

I like being surprised. I have my favorites and I may never have them in my town, but it's okay! I've discovered a lot of new favorites I never knew about because they randomly moved in, like Agnes and Bones. I think I'd get bored if I got everything I wanted.

Some are surprise because they look cute but some I really wanted them because I just adore zebras but my favorite penguin aurora it took me as a surprise

I don't have any 'dreamies'. I would never want to have a predetermined villager set and it would be so boring to always keep the same villagers. I just invite villagers I like from the campsite and random move-ins, sometimes also from wifi. I barely invite villagers from other towns though, I don't really like them talking about their own towns and I wouldn't want to decide on my villagers like that (at least with the campsite there are less available, y'know). It's not that I like all villagers, but I just move out the ones I don't like eventually. In order to get a balanced town, I might move out the (fe)males or *certain personalities* I like a bit less and that's how my town comes together. :) Eventually some villagers will move out again and new ones will come and moving the bad ones out and stuff will keep me busy. Imagine a town where nobody moves out or in, really. What kind of town is that? :p

All I really want to go after is balance - aka, at least one character of each type. I have my certain desires for each type, but even then life happens and people come and go eventually. All I wish to do is make sure they have a good time regardless of how long they end up sticking around x)

I tend to go after dreamies, it's nice having a goal. I have only a few dreamies though, not all 10 :P

I don't have dreamies but I usually pick one or two animal of each species to look for and sometimes I just reset my camp site until someone who looks cool shows up and I let them move in. I've thought about having dreamies but it's just so much work to get a specific villager and then to have to keep playing so no one leaves. I like keeping it fresh by having people come in and out when I feel like getting someone new or I get two of the same personality and I like one more than the other.

I have dreamies. However, there are around 30 villagers that I really love and even more that I quite like, so I'm able to mix and match them. It's nice because I can get different dynamics between villagers and different color schemes and such between towns.

*edit* ALSO THIS WAS MY 1,000th POST GO ME *confetti*

I go after my dreamies. It's nice to have something to work towards to with my town. I don't like being surprised with villagers much because some villagers I really don't like.

i mean my town has a theme which is a forest and having animals like octopuses or gorillas wouldn't really fit if ya catch my drift

I like both ways, but this time around, I'm going after dreamies. I have a plan in mind, even if the details of said plan may change a little here and there.

I definitely like the surprise more, even though there's a few villagers I'd love to have in my town. Most of my random move-ins have really grown on me and I love all my original villagers. My newest villager is a lazy which I already have two of, and his dialogue is slightly different from theirs which is really refreshing!

I definitely think it'd get stale after a while if you're locked into having 10 dreamies. But it's really how you feel about it that matters.

At first I had a firm set of who I wanted, then some of them snuck out with no warning. I revised the firm set to include villagers I'd like to have, but don't care if they leave.

I have about five dreamies I would like to see at least one of them during my time playing animal crossing new leafff. But I guess right now I'm just being surprised with who moves to town and make the best out of these moment with the villagers I have right now before they move out xD

I don't actively go after dreamies, unless a friend has one that I really want; I tend to just sit and wait and see who moves in. Though, I tend to dislike villagers if they destroy my paths, lol.

I only adopt when I get a spot open, and I have lots of dreamies. Besides, I ain't chancing it with no ugly random move-in :(

I like being surprised mostly, but not always. I like finding a fancy new villager in my campsite and having them move in (Ankha <3), but I hate having a villager I don't like (Apple, ugh) move in, move out, and surprise move back in and stay for SIX MONTHS.
