i take zoloft/buspirone/ambien/iron supplement daily and ativan when i need
do any of you take stuff
i was also kinda wondering if anyone took zoloft/any other ssri and had any advice on getting off of it?
i'm tired of feeling like an emotionless rock but the process of quitting taking it is a pain in the ass and UGH THE STRUGGLE??

I've been taking an SSRI for 4 years. If you need to stop you seriously need to see the doctor who prescribed it to you - I know everyone's gonna say that, but like, for real, you can mess yourself UP if you stop without telling your doctor. but if you SERIOUSLY cannot afford to, because I've been there.... look up "weaning" off medications. You're gonna need to invest in a pill cutter, and take 3/4 of your medication for 2 weeks... then 1/2 for 2 weeks.... then 1/4, etc.

I take Lexapro (SSRI), Gildess FE 1/20, Pataday, prescription Naxonex, an iron suppliment, and two skin medications whose names are like.... medical. I don't remember them, hahah.

Stuff to help with my throat issues, melatonin, headache stuff, floride.

I take singulair & ortho tri-cyclen right now. I was advised to take meds for my anixety disorder & bpd, but my grandma won't allow me too (can't really argue it since I'm stuck here), so I'll probably start taking something for it when I move out in the fall.

As for SSRI, I've never personally taken anything like that. When my step mom quit taking her's she just had to kind of ween herself off of them by cutting her dose back gradually.

Update:

Oh I also forgot that I have some topical stuff that I use for my skin as needed. I used to use it daily but I don't anymore. I also have drops that I have to use for my ears sometimes because I get random ear pain.

I was also on muscle relaxers for a while because I have really bad neck problems and arthritis, but I ran out and haven't been back to the doctor to discuss a refill or whatever else we were going to try (bc I don't think you can continuously stay on those and they also made me really sleepy).

yeah i assumed i'd have to go back aaah. i hate going to the doctors so much but ya do what you gotta do
the longest i haven't taken it is like 4 days and i felt like complete garbage. ive been taking it for like a year, i just feel like i'd be better off not on it anymore tho >_>

I take anxiety meds, but I forget what the specific medication is. Maybe prozac?
I need ADHD medication but I can't take it, stimulant based drugs make me aggressive. :c

I take pain medicine every few days - was supposed to take it daily but i'm bad with medication. The pain isn't as bad anymore but it's chronic so it's always coming and going. (Joints and back) I was cursed with a condition that people mostly get when they're old but unfortunately had it since I was a kid.

I was prescribed Zoloft in the past but I refused it, I always heard of all the side effects and didn't want to take the risk or become dependent to it. And when I was a kid I was prescribed prozac but it did a lot bad for me so I had to get taken off of it, that's probably the main reason I refuse those kinds of medication.

I'm on cymbalta and have been on various types of antidepressants/anti-anxiety meds for quite some time. I kind of don't want to be on them anymore since they don't seem worth it, but I also don't want to deal with anybody being all "I told you so" if going off meds turns out poorly.

i have like 3298923 ones i am meant to take daily but i dont and i just tip them down the sink and pretend i did

I've tried taking medication for my anxiety and depression but my mood swings are so wild that nothing felt like it was having any affect at all, so I decided not to take them anymore. I don't think pills will help me... my moods and outlooks are so inconstant and unpredictable, I go through different "waves" of depression so I feel like I have no way of knowing if the medication is working or if I'm just in an "upswing". It's disappointing but I hope I will be able to live a fulfilled life with my depression and anxiety without the help of medication, and I hope everyone who seeks medication finds something that works for them!

Im no doctor, but Faery, what you described is literally a textbook case of Bipolar II disorder. Thats what I've got! Its really common for anti-anxiety medication (including SSRIs) to have no affect! Bipolar II is characterized by rapid-cycling extremes in emotions - but they have to last about 3 days at a time to count as a "cycle". So, depressive for a few days can swing to "manic" for however so long, can swing back. And mania can be anxiety, but also extreme happiness that leaves you exhausted.

Anyway I second that last notion, I hope everyone finds what works for them!!

That does sound like me!! I've wondered in passing if I had some type of bipolar disorder but I suppose I dismissed the idea since none of the therapists or counselors I consulted ever suggested it, and my close friends with bipolar disorder seemed to face different obstacles than I did. Perhaps I will look into it more and revisit a psychiatrist this year!

Thank you for sharing! :)

I know that this post was't directed at me, but it seems to fit me as well. I'll have to look into it a bit and ask my counsellor whenever I see them. C:
It might also be a negative reaction to my anxiety medication but my parents won't let me get off it. They say it helps me, but when I tell them it doesn't they refuse to believe me.

I had a similar issue with my parents... they seemed to think that any change in behaviour was a result of the medication, although I am certain my meds did nothing. Outside perspectives can be helpful but YOU know yourself and your emotions better than anyone else. If you don't think your meds are helping, and especially if you think they are giving negative side effects, talk to your counsellor or therapist/psychiatrist/doctor etc! If your parents don't believe you, they will probably believe your doctor(I would hope, anyway!)
