Things like collect the shells & sell them, hit all the rocks to find the money/ore one, shake the trees to get the daily two pieces of furniture and bells? Do you bother catching the bees or just let them sting you & apply medicine? Also, do you visit the island daily or just now & then? I'm guessing newer players who have just started a town would do all of these, but those that no longer need bells, do you bother?
No. After a certain point, there is just no real reward for doing those things. Maybe some people still do that stuff "for fun", but I just find it tedious when it is better to get bells and items in other ways.
I just started playing the game so I am still doing all these things. I have a quite a number of flowers too... and I water all of them because I only have the night ordinance for getting bugs for bells in the tropical island.
I also send letters to villagers and all... animal crossing has robbed me of my real life. Haha

Just break the ore rock and remove shells that are near my hybrids.
Mostly spent time with my villager to make sure everyone is happy.
The fossils and pitfalls are buried. Just dig up gyroids on days I need to.
I was going to the island to check what was for sale for my newest town. Found the kitchen island so I stopped.
6 months on I still try to find the money, the ore rock (as it stands out) and collect shells on the beach. I mostly speak to villagers and try to complete their little requests as I want a few more PWPs that haven't been suggested yet.
And I go to the Island every day hoping to find the rare items. But I don't bother with beetle hunting anymore.
i do dig stuff up, but since fossil collection is complete, i sell them without taking them to blathers first because i dont want them taking up space.
i decorate the beach with seashells but for the most part i dont touch them.
i also dont harvest fruit. ever.
uhh other stuff i used to do when i first started out with this town back in february was checking the campsite every day and buying everything in the nook stores but i dont do either anymore.
i kind of just bum around town and talk to villagers a ton now, and maybe if im not feeling too lazy i'll get a new pwp put in but usually i jsut talk to my faves.
Well I do still need Bells but those chores don't provide much which is why I don't do most of them. I search for the money and ore rocks on most days and go to the island daily. I should also start collecting sea shells, not because of money though, but in hopes of finding giant-clam shells.
I still do it when I have time to play. I don't shake my trees though since I have too many bells. Sometimes I get lazy and don't dig up the fossils and gyroids, but then it looks all ugly (for my second town) that I start going around town digging them up and selling them.
Yes and no. When I started I would religiously shake all the trees, but that takes up too much time I could spend working on badges now. I still check for all the money rocks and ore though as I do need bells to fund my badge collection work, and they don't take very long.
I'm going for the Refurbisher badge right now, so hell yes do I gather and sell all the sea shells. Music boxes are pretty. In fact, when I hit 200 I think I'll keep a few on hand for when villagers ask me for furniture.
Now the museum has all the fossils if I easily spot the fossil areas I dig them up, have them assessed and sell them for the cheap bells. But I don't go out of my way to find them. I haven't been able to find one for months but it isn't worrying me.
I always find and break the ore rock, but that's about it.
I'm too lazy to bother with fossils. buried 'em on the beach so more don't pop up.
sometimes I shake trees, but I do have a decent amount of regular trees and will plant more, so I'll stop bothering with that completely once I catch a dang bee.
money rock isn't really worth bothering with for me anymore.
I don't get many fossils in my completed town now because most of it is covered with paths or flowers. I will find and break the ore rock though, but there's only so many places that can be too. If I'm playing it to do slight landscaping, I will just talk to the villagers to make sure no one leaves. In my second town, I do all those things: fossils, ore rock, money rock, shake trees for furniture because its a new town. Its fun to do all those things when you're just starting out.
yeah but I don't really shake the trees a lot or collect shells. but then again, I've only been playing for 2 months and 2 days, haha. I recently started another character in my town as well so I take fruit and shells with that one a lot more than with my mayor.
I was just wondering about the same thing --- I have been playing for two years now, and no, I don't bother with the rocks anymore, I do dig up fossils and I do sometimes still go to the island...
