The hot items are always diy items that you can make but I dont really love to craft so I dont even bother to read the bulletin board outside of Nooks Cranny anymore. In New Leaf you could get fruit or shirts as a hot item and I used that quite a bit for extra bells. How about you? Which do you prefer ?

Sometimes if there's a nook miles goal for it, otherwise I don't really care. But yeah I agree the system was better in NL with just a thing that didn't require too much.

With the amount of bells you can get very easily in this game, hot items are pretty much useless right now for the most part. It'd be cool if instead of buying DIY items, they'd buy like materials or certain fruit at higher prices. They could even implement like a system where if you sell x amount of x materials/fruits to the shop during that day, you get an extra 1000 nook miles or something like that. That way I and many other people could actually use their orchards and fruit trees for something productive, other than just sitting there looking pretty.

Depends on what it is and whether I need the bells. Things that sell for an already high price, like Iron Frames, can become quite profitable if they're a hot item as well.

I don't think I've ever done it. Most of the time I forget it even exists in-game.

When I was still starting out and was short on bells I’d check the hot items everyday to see what it was and sell them. Nowadays though I don’t really have any need for it and it’s probably been months already since I last checked.

I think i did it a couple times early on, when i was trying to get more bells and nmt, but i haven't even looked at the board since about the second week of the game.
I personally prefered retail's sign since you could often just sell stuff you had lying around, and i'm too lazy to craft a bunch of random items for a few extra bells lol

Not really, I think I did a couple times in the start of the game, but I haven't in a long time.
I don't even check to see what the hot items are anymore.

I used to. I figured it would be a good way to make bells. Then I started only caring when there was a nook mile goal for it. Now, I don't even remember the last time I read the board.

If its a Nook Miles goal and it's easy to craft I will. Honestly by the time I get back to my house to get materials and craft it I've usually forgotten what it was. Early game it was a good way to make money but there are more efficient ways now.

I only do that to complete nook miles + achievements. Other than that, there's not much reason for selling hot items since the majority of them are from diys.

I did early on in the game, especially if they were a Nook Miles+ task, or if the hot item turnaround bells would be enough. I wasn't involved in the turnip market for a loooooooong time and I paid off every house payment except the last one with just my own diligence. Because I didn't time travel or do anything with turnips, I was SO MAD when the first update choked the interest on bells in the bank. I hadn't even gotten my FIRST interest payment yet so every bell in the bank had been through my own hard work. Nowadays I don't even need it yet. But I'm sure I will again. :)

in the beginning I did for a little bit. I tried saving all the gold crown that i crafted and waited for the item of the day to be it but it never came. the not so item of the day took over my beach and i caved. so i dont even check anymore.
