I like paths, it adds variety and character to villages. I think they're very helpful too. Without paths, I'd probably get lost and run in circles like a fool...I still do that regardless, though <_<;
My town has paths, but they're made to look like mossy stones, so looks a bit more natural next to the grass. I also don't have paths going everywhere, I just have paths going from the train station, to my house, then to the square, or from the train station to one of the bridges, then on the lower half of town I have paths connecting Re-Tail, my town hall, the police station and the Roost, because they're mostly in a straight line. I couldn't be bothered figuring out a good way to have paths going to all the villager houses and going from all the bridges and connecting everything without looking really messy. Some maps just aren't suited for paths everywhere, and some people are just much better at making paths.
I prefer towns with paths that just guide you from one place to another or to put it simply just connect one place to the other without having to bump into houses, trees and rocks... But it's hard to place them correctly and needless to say it takes hours to finish once you have started..
I can't imagine not having paths in any of the towns I create. Paths keep me from wearing out my grass, help with navigation to specific areas and give my towns a more polished look.
I have path designs in my town square, outside my train station, and in one spot where I made a walkway with topiaries and bamboo, but I have a natural dirt path with lucky clovers covering it to guide people through my town.
I feel paths add something to a town that really pulls it all together. They are all so different and beautiful(compared to mine :,( lol) And i also like how it makes the town less empty. Can't wait until my town looks nice hehe
i really like natural paths atm tbh. dirt paths are cute !!!
for me i feel like qr paths are too straight, so i don't use them atm. i'm thinking about making a city themed town with road paths but idk. it's more annoying because i feel like everything needs to line up perfectly aaa
i love paths but they can look really bad imo sometimes. Examples: diagonal paths trying to be in-line with bridges, patterns that hang off of cliffs/river edges, fake grass patterns trying to cover up dirt spots (**** nintendo for dirt spots, realism my ass)
what i hate about paths is we cant place them underneath buildings and PWPs, its always annoyed me since i unlocked the sewing machine. it just looks so bad. i wish we could get rid of the cobblestone too (around the town tree and train station.
if they just removed the cobblestone and let us place patterns underneath things, im sure towns would look much more professional or clean/organized.
Wow! This thread got replies than I expected. I dont like how some towns have a design on every designable square it makes it look awkward on my opinioon
I prefer paths. Idc if the mayor made them or got them from a qr. I just think it gives the town more character, and makes the theme easily identifiable. I always have paths in my town. This time around my town is Alice in Wonderland themed, so I got a qr for paths that match the fairy tale theme and have the suites from a deck of cards on them.
i love paths but i am sooo indecisive - when i have them i end up changing them multiple times a week because i can never settle on one i like
until i find the "perfect path" i've decided to just go without
I like both, but I prefer dirt paths (even if they're hard to make and keep). However, when winter arrives, I'll make sure to put some paths in my town, since the dirt paths will basically fade with the snow.
I prefer natural towns generally but I ended up with paths in my town just because I haven't got the imagination to be able to create a really lovely looking natural town. I had no clue how to plan out my projects or house placements before placing paths. I'm not the most creative person....
I was hoping to create some natural looking oaths but with my time travelling it didn't really work out and the grass kept regenerating too fast
