I personally prefer animal crossing on handhelds. I like my animal crossing convenient, which is why Wild World and New Leaf are my two current favourites :) (there's other reasons obviously but those are big factors for me)

How do you like to play your Animal Crossing?

Home console. Because I prefer the Wii U over the 3DS

But the games themselves. The handheld games.

Systems in general Home console! (As long as it is a Nintendo one, All the Xbox systems and Playstation systems SUCK!) Wii U is best!

New Leaf is the only AC game I've played, but I know that I'd rather have it on a handheld.
Perfect example of the console/handheld thing is the Disgaea series. Console versions I'll barely finish, while I put hundreds of hours into the handheld version. I'd neglect a console AC just as much.

handheld def !!!!
i play usually when im in school or just walking around places
if i could only play at home i wouldnt have wanted the game
(or my 3ds ptbtbtbt)

AC should literally only be for handhelds
consoles are garbage (the wiiu is garbage)
i honestly dont care that it started on a console. its evolved in such a fashion that its not console-friendly anymore. you need to take time out of your day to play it every day or god forbid the rng nintendo gods smite ur ****ty ass for not playing
down with console versions for all of eternity (of AC at least)
i s2g if i see one for the wiiu nintendo is getting stormed and gutted

Handheld. Easy to start it up and I can play/catch beetles while watching tv. The controls feel more natural on handhelds as well.

Wii U > PS3 + Xbox 360 + Xbox One + PS4

Wii U is the best!

I think that handheld is much better for a game like Animal Crossing, and I definitely prefer playing it on a handheld (I had only played the Gamecube version before New Leaf). I think it's easier to keep playing it for a longer length of time before getting bored, since I can play it on the go or just go on quickly for a few minutes. :)

I've never played AC CF so I can't speak for that one.
I enjoyed playing the original GC version though a lot. The towns were so huge and you had 14 villagers. Back then that was the graphics so it didn't bother me. Now days, I can't play my GC version anymore. The way the screen moves as you run around town makes me nauseous. It's really bad. It'll still be my favorite version though.

I'd truly love a AC NL for a console honestly. I do like that handhelds enable you to play anywhere but I also liked the resolution of the TV and the bigger maps. It'd also be fun to multiplayer with someone and use a headset. I'm not a fan of Wii's though really so I doubt I'll ever play a console version unless Wii's have a more normal controller.

handheld, cause then I can play it anywhere!!!
I also get like... severe... motion sickness, City Folk always made me want to throw up after a while, so I wouldn't be able to play as often on a home console either :(

too much effort to turn on the tv and turn on the wii and then the batteries don't work and you have to charge them but by that time you forget completely

I honestly have no preference at all. Handheld versions are good, and console versions are good as well.

Handheld is a million times more convenient. I loved City Folk, but my parents would always grumble about being unable to watch tv while I was playing. With New Leaf (and Wild World previously), I can spend hours running around, doing my thang, without really bothering anyone else (They get annoyed when I turn the music on, but sometimes I need it to hear the bobber go down when I'm fishing)

I wouldn't go as far as to call the Wii U garbage, but it's definitely not one of the best performing consoles. There's a reason Nintendo is going through reforms.

The Wii U is the very first console I have NO problems with. I LOVE the game pad, it has GREAT games (Wind Waker HD, Mario 3D World, DK Tropical Freeze) I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

HAHA im just bitter, i dont actually think its garbage as ive never used one; though the second screen thing irritates the **** out of me
but yeah im just pissy because i fear ill see the next AC on a console, where i barely use them, and even moreso on a console i dont have that im extremely hesitant to get, unlike i was with the wii. so mehhhhhh.

AC really is a 100% handheld game to me.
I just love to play it all snuggled up in my bed or outside under a nice shade.
It's really part of the charm for it to be so portable and easy access.
