Just cause I'm curious, a poll for fun: Do you play acnh with the game sounds on, or do you mute it and listen to music/podcasts while playing?
I love the game's music, but if I'm just grinding fish at the pier or something, I usually put on a podcast. How do you play? (you can pick multiple answers)
I play with the game volume on low. Doesn't need to be too loud - just loud enough to hear villagers talk or sing, and to hear my footsteps. The footstep sounds are great. ❤
I love the soundtrack and the sound of running and rustling leaves. Always on, although sometimes I do listen to a podcast at the same time, if I'm terraforming or something
Mine's on because I love the sound effects like footsteps. If I could turn the music off but leave those effects on, I'd do that and put on a playlist.
i play with the volume on low because i'm usually watching videos or listening to something else while i'm playing. i usually have the slightest bit of volume because i do the listening technique when i fish.

I wish music sources reached further... Why can I hear Fuchsia singing somewhere in the distance but my jukebox is inaudible 3 steps away? My outdoor restaurant is suffering bc this. Also hourly music plays with music players, very pretty sounds.
I would love to be able to change the hourly music to, say, a soundtrack on your mp3 app? Shuffle?
i usually play with the sound on, since i often multitask while playing and rely on the sound effects for the things i do (terraforming, fishing, shaking acorns and pinecones from trees). honestly i wish there were an option to turn off the music, though—i'm not a fan of the hourly tracks this game, especially not 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. (which i almost always play during) ;w; sometimes i turn down the volume just because the music gets on my nerves, ahaha
I'm usually doing something else in the background so I keep the volume off, but every now and then I'll turn it on to listen to my villagers talk. And whenever Zell or Rory start singing
I almost always have the volume on, unless I'm just idling, waiting to go to an island/have somebody come to my island or I'm just grinding away at something in-game and I'm watching/listening to something else while that's going on.
I play with it on- I enjoy the music, plus you hear presents floating by that you might not otherwise see, and its easier to catch fish with the volume on
I voted for the first and third, because I usually have the volume turned on slightly but am listening to music with headphones on.
I'll of course turn off the volume if I'm fishing, or waiting for balloons. Sometimes I'll forego the headphones if it's a particular hour and I happen to like the music.
My island tends to be really windy and rains pretty frequently so if I don't have my game music / sounds on, I will miss balloons and the harder to catch fish.
I happen to love fishing and popping balloons lol.
