I just learned how to play the Digimon TCG, and it's a lot of fun. I've also wanted to learn to play Yugioh too for a long time so that's probably the next thing I'll try to learn. It looks a little more complicated (at least for me) so it may take me a little longer to get the hang of it.

I've always collected the Pokémon cards since I was a little kid but I never really got into the game aspect of them, until recently I started getting interested in playing TCGs, so I'll probably play some of that too. :)

So does anyone here play any TCGs? What are your favorite ones to play?

I've played Magic: The Gathering on and off for decades. I'm not currently playing but I'll go through phases where I play for years and then I lose interest for years.

I remember my brother trying to get me into the Pokémon card game. I did play a few times against him, but I never got really invested.

I've also played a couple of Yu-Gi-Oh matches against my husband when he got a bunch of random cards.

I actually don’t, but I want to try Yugioh. There’s a free Yugioh game on the Switch and I’m open to trying it out. There’s literally nothing to lose and I don’t mind trying new things.

I collected Pokémon cards (and some Yu-Gi-Oh cards) as a kid, but never played the actual game..

I have tried Magic: The Gathering, and it was fun, but hard! I also tried the Adventure Time version basically, called Card Wars. I loved it!!

Hmmm, and I don't know if it counts, but I also like the card game FLUXX. We have the Cthulhu version, very interesting game.

I have a binder full of Pokémon cards from when I was a kid, and then I have two or so more binders full of Pokémon cards I've collected as an adult, as well as a TCG kit.

I've only played the TCG with one person I know. There is a game store that runs game nights for Pokémon TCG but it's not really my thing.

When you buy Pokémon cards they come with a code, and you can redeem the value of that pack in the Pokémon TCG online game. You can build virtual decks with the cards you collect and battle others. I've tried that a few times. 😊

I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh for some years until I lost interest, somewhere I still have the Dark Magician that my best friend gave me

really? what's it called? :>

I don't play anymore, but I used to play Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokémon. It was hard to find people to play with around where I lived, even at the height of their popularity, so most of my games were online or video game based. I only played a few matches offline.

I think I liked all three equally. I have a lot of fond memories of playing the Digimon card game on the PS1 and the early Pokemon play it demo disc that I think only used base set cards. I had a few Yu-Gi-Oh games, but it was one of the GBA games that I really fell in love with. Sadly can't remember exactly which one.

I also had some Monster Rancher cards, but I never found anyone else to play that one with. Not sure if there are any games for them, either (and if there are, we never released them in the UK).

I used to play Pokémon (the card game of course) with my brothers when I was younger, but that's it. No idea where those Pokémon cards have gone, by the way.

Not really much of a trading card game player.

Back during the initial Pokémon craze in the 90s, I, like a lot of people, collected Pokémon cards. I never really cared enough to learn about the actual rules or played it though. Was always way more interested in the video games and, at least back then, I liked watching the anime. The card art was neat, at least.

I collected and played Yu-Gi-Oh! for a while back when the original series of the anime was airing. Mostly just played with friends, though I went along with a friend one time to one of those Toys R Us tournaments they used to run. It was fun enough. The game has changed so much since then that I'm not really interested in picking it back up.

That's about it.

I keep forgetting about that, I should give it a try, would give me a chance to try out the game without having to invest in building a physical deck yet. I'm just nervous if it has me duel other people? Because I literally know none of the rules or anything and I kind of take awhile to get the hang of card games, so I probably wouldn't be ready to jump into duels right away, unless it has a good tutorial that I can use a lot first to learn the game

I have heard it has a great tutorial that should really help, but I don’t really know much else because I have yet to download it, lol. I’m sure there’s some sort of offline mode, though. Most games don’t force you to jump into online matchups.

Thank you, that's good to know, I'll have to check it out sometime :)

i used to not be into them at all, but got invited to be in a magic: the gathering group during covid, and i've come to really enjoy it.

i still think the whole buying/selling-massively-expensive-cards aspect that many enjoy is pretty weird, but i really like the whole deckbuilding thing - especially in the edh/commander format, where you build a deck around a single commander.

Used to play the online Pokemon TCG years ago... but it became incredibly annoying and I quit.

I still have leftover Pokemon cards that are pretty cool and which I've shared... but probably wouldn't play the actual game again, whether it's the in real life or online version.

Used to play a few on my phone and Steam but kinda quit ages ago cause they get/got repetitive. As for real-life ones I never really learnt, I was always more of a collector c:
