Since I can play games for hours without getting my eyes tired, I could easily play an hour or two any game in 3D. The problem is, almost every game don't benefit much from using 3D effects, and some of them required you to tilt your handheld at the expense of having the 3D being stable. On top of that, I didn't have much room for staring at the "sweet spot" that my 3DS systems asked me to, therefore forcing me to hold the systems in a very specific way. One very minuscule tilt of the handheld can blur the screen while the feature is turned on. The New 3DS models are going to rectify that with head-tracking function, but the 3D is still a disposable feature in my books.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf happens to be one of the many games that don't benefit much from exploiting 3D effects. I can play both 3D and 2D just as fine as I would usually do. I'll stick to 2D for the most part.
My eyes are bad as it is, the 3D just makes it worse. One of the requirements for my mom buying me a 3DS was that I wouldn't use the 3D (or use it sparingly). Then 2 months later the 2Ds came out x.x
When I tried the 3D at the store, I tried to shut it off (by slamming the system shut; stupid me) and by the time my eyes returned to normal, I had a bad headache and my eyes were spinning.
I played it with 3d for about 2-3 months but then I turned it off. Not because the 3d in no annoyed me, I just got bored of the 3d in general so I turned it off
I don't play any games in 3D on my 3DS, hurts my eyes. I do turn it on for very brief periods in some games just to get a different perspective though.
It is kind of weird to walk around town with the 3d setting on. However, it looks cool when you have a public works ceremony and you see the confetti and it also looks cool sailing to the island. On most games though, it just gets me dizzy.
