Honestly, I don't like it very much myself. ^^;
It keeps me occupied for a little while, but then, I always want to work on some PWPs or do some tasks for my villagers. Unfortunately, most of them are outside and all they want to talk about fishing. And Isabelle tells me to go enjoy myself and get out the "stuffy" building. :I
I kinda wish it was harder too? I've won every single fishing tourney with little to no effort. ;v; I'd like a little bit bigger of a challenge with it, as well.

I mean, it's something to do. I don't dislike it, but I'm not excited to take part in it or anything.

I would be cool with it if it didn't sacrifice a whole day to villagers waddling around uselessly with their fishing poles and being unable to do any mayoral work.

I don't care about the fishing tournament, but it's really annoying that you can't really do anything on that day. The villagers just talk about fish all day, Isabelle doesn't allow you do work and there's no special NPC on that day. Honestly, the flea market in Wild World was more exciting than this constant event.

Nope. Especially since Francine told me that Bunnie is thinking about moving and I can't do jack about it until the stupid tourney is over. >.<

I took part in it the first time, got some items, my favourite one being the wallpaper, but I'm not using it.

It is annoying that you can't do any mayoral duties during the Fishing Tourney. But I love the fish set so much (although I don't think it looks great as a complete set and the items are better of individually), and it's much easier to obtain the items compared to the Bug-Off.

I wish the villagers were able to display the trophies that they won themselves! :D

I kind of like it? Haha I don't know, it spices up the things I do every day on the game anyway. Never forgiving Lopez for beating me at it that one time though.

I would like it if it didn't take up the entire day, but, can't have it all I suppose.

I know right? They have the dialogue and everything about what your mayor placed, and the awards ceremony has them winning trophies and holding them. It would be a nice touch and if you visited them at a later date they could tell you about what they caught to win it and how proud they are! :D

I like it, gives me a fun goal for the day. We got a themed fish, the horse mackerel, and I already got a huge 20.35 inch one where all the other ones I caught today were 14 inches or less, so only one piece of furniture for me today I guess :(

i don't care much about it, but it's a cool event for those who enjoy this kind of stuff.
i just wish isabelle wouldn't force me out of my office ;-;

Today's tourney called for the biggest sea bass. I don't participate when it's for one type of fish. I like when you can catch any fish and it's judged purely on size.

that would be adorable ;-; I hope they add more little details like that in the next game.

and I'm not a fan of the tourneys just for the fact that the villagers don't talk about anything but fish until it's over, that drives me insane. that and because you can't build pwps and do all that mayoral stuff. if it didn't interfere with things as much as it does, I wouldn't mind it so much.

I like the Bug Off more. Watching the villager try to catch a bug is fun. They get angry when you catch their bug.
The fish off they just walk around or pretend to fish. I have all the prizes and just start at 5pm. It's enough time to fish, talk to the inside villagers and go to the ceremony.

Tutu won this time but she said I was the winner.

Yes! I just want less generic dialogue! Or at least more types of generic dialogue. Haha. :D

Sometimes when I really don't feel like talking to villagers, I'm glad that you don't have the option to chat to them. But most of the time it's annoying and you can't get them to ping for anything until it's over.

I hate it but I still take part in it anyway because I wanna complete my catalog. So I guess I do care for it to some extent

I dislike both the Dishing Tourney and Bug Off.

*The tent in your plaza is larger than Redd's or Katrina's so if you lay patterns on your plaza you have to replace more. Some of the patterns on my plaza happen to belong to one of my alt characters. Redd and Katrina's tents do not take these patterns out, but the Fishing Tourney/Bug Off tents do. Therefore, I have to bring out my alt to fix up the patterns.

*Villagers will talk about nothing but fishing until the event is over. They cannot ping you for PWP's or to tell you they're moving. You can't even have a normal conversation with them. And the fishing dialouge gets repetitive and boring.

*Isabelle won't let you do any mayoral work that day, even after the event ends.

*The major NPC dialouge is also repetitive and boring.

*The event lasts way too long. If I recall correctly, it lasts from 9AM to 6PM. That's nine hours. Nine hours of repetitive villager dialouge.

*The event happens way too often. One day every month of a big ugly space of my plaza taken up by a tent, not being able to do mayoral work, and boring dialouge. No thanks.

*The event overall is boring and can turn into repetitive grinding.
