I like the concept of the crafting system. In practice, most days, I'm fine with it. Since we don't have a gauge for tool usage, this forces me to keep my inventory organized all the time so tracking usage is as painless as possible. The only time I find crafting to be a massive headache is when I'm making bait to catch rare pier/pond fish before they leave at the end of the month. xD Another small thing that bothers me is the inconsistency in number of material items that can stack. Why do some materials stack in 10 while others in 30?
I'm okay with it. I thought I'd be really meh about it but..it's been alright in the format it's been.
I do think it would be better with revisions like multi crafting (fish bait, medicine, etc), customizing integrated into regular crafting, pulling supplies from storage not having to be in your bag), and glitches fixed with learned recipes (sometimes recipes you've learned disappear and you have to get the recipe again/relearn it). And I'm sorry nintendo..but there's no reason clams shouldn't stack...it's obnoxious for how long you spend digging them up and how obnoxious crafting bait is.
I had a hard time deciding between saying that it could use revisions or shouldn't exist. It needs major revisions, in my mind. Often, I wish it wasn't included at all. I wish they would redesign it entirely. Make it a menu where I could chose the quantity I want to make and can exit when I am done making things, and remove the crafting animation entirely.
I liked it for Halloween, but often I wish it didn't exist so that my tools didn't break.
I like it in concept but it definitely needs some revisions that I'm kinda baffled haven't been added yet. Craft multiple is a MUST. I'm nearly done with all the fish that needed to be caught but it's BS that I needed to craft every single fish bait individually. Though I might no longer need the fish bait, I just don't wish that kind of suffering on anyone else.
I quite like it, though there's definitely room for some improvement, namely being able to mass craft rather than crafting each item one at a time. I guess another downside would be that you don't always have enough materials, but I feel like a lot of us are already pretty far in the game and have quite a bit gathered up anyway cx
I like being able to craft as much furniture as I need for my Island, but it definitely could use some improvements. It would be nice to be able to craft fish bait in bulk instead of one at a time, and I would love to be able to craft from storage instead of having to clear pocket space.
Like most players here, I want the ability to craft items in bulk. As for the concept itself, I like it very much. It gives us the reason to fetch those materials.
I actually really enjoy the crafting because it gives you a lot more options when you're decorating (since you can only order 5 items per day) and it means that you have a lot more customisation options for your items. there are obviously some improvements that could be made to it (bulk crafting, being able to craft with materials in your storage rather than having it in your pockets) but overall I think it's a fun mechanic to the game. I DO wish we didn't have only breakable tools though because I swear if I have to craft One more axe I'm going to lose it
Well, I think the most annoying issue is material drop rates (acorns, pine cones mainly) rather than the system itself aside from getting a lot of doubles. That should really be re-worked, it's worse than your generic MMORPG system to be honest.
I men I'd gladly throw it out cause it limits a lot of special furniture to it rather than it being sold eg. seasonally or stuff(I mean switching out fan/surfboard in shop every other day ehh)
I generally like crafting. I love how you can collect resources and do things with items like shells and flowers wheras in previous games they were just there to look pretty or to sell.
Having said that, I'll never like the tool crafting. Specifically the fact that you keep having to craft them over and over and they often break while you're in the middle of something. I think it was an awful idea for there not to be any unbreakable tools and for me there's nothing positive about it besides having something to do with all the ore I collect. I don't even use anything besides my shovel that much anymore and it still annoys me.
I really like crafting and most things about it. Learning DIYs from villagers, hunting DIYs in balloons, trading DIYs are all good tasks to work on towards the goal of a finished DIY catalogue. I like gathering materials, it's also a good task for added gameplay. The system really makes sense with the theme of starting out on a deserted island and doing things yourself to improve the island and develop it.
Some changes are needed, though. It would be a lifesaver if we, when we were inside our house at the very least, could use materials in our storage and not have to keep the materials in our inventories to craft. That's the main thing I can think of that I actively dislike about the system, and it's more of an annoyance than a huge flaw with it.
