I usually do fossils and money rock first thing, so for my first round of town I'll carry my shovel, sling shot and watering can (alphabetized of course ^^). Then after I'm done digging and watering, I'll return the shovel and watering can and take out my fishing rod and net (just in case!). I rarely use my megaphone, unless I really can't find someone, and of course the axe is just for choppin'
I decided to stay with the silver set of tools, because after taking 16 months to finally earn the gold rod, I was kind of attached to the silver one, and had them so much longer. I gave the gold set to a subcharacter who displays them in his "gold room"- gold tools, get it?
I kind of tie it to the previous 3 games in that I have ready to switch (and in this particular order), axe, shovel, net, rod, can, megaphone, and umbrella. The rest are open slots, and should I ever want to do it, I put a silver slingshot in a letter- balloons are so slow anyway, and next to cliffs automatically pop if you stand next to it while it's going over the cliff holding a shovel or axe.
I probably should (I had no idea you could use letters o, but I only carry my shovel most of the time, and an axe when I have one. I put them on the ground by my house when harvesting my Perfect Peaches.
Usually I only keep some of them with me. Mainly my fishing rod and shovel. I don't need my axe much so I don't keep it out and just take it out as needed.
Yeah, I keep every tool except slingshot and timer with me at all times. I wish they'd do something similar to Magician's Quest and give us separate slots for tools.
I keep my most used ones (golden watering can, silver shovel, silver fishing rod, and gold bug net (summer only)). The others i store in letters in specific ones so i know what to whip out when i need it.
Back in my main town (that I'm going to reset and make my official cycle town, since my second town which WAS going to be my cycle town is actually really nice haha) I would store them in letters. They were always the last 6; golden watering can, golden net, golden rod, golden slingshot, golden axe, and golden shovel in that order.

I always keep my Fishing Rod, Net, Shovel, and usually slingshot. I keep my watering can and axes in my dresser, though, unless I know I'm going to need them.
I like to write a lot of letters to my villagers in an effort to keep their friendship levels high and sometimes I attach presents and try to dig up all the fossils and such and it can be very hard to have all the tools since they take up so much space. These days I usually just have the slingshot and the watering can. But since I'm not all that head over heels about Balloon furniture... I may just stop. I put away the tools back home whenever possible and pull them out as I need it.
I carry all of them in my letters. Though I may start leaving things like my slingshot and wetsuit at home since I don't use it very much. I think my axe too, if I'm not landscaping.
I keep a fishing rod, net, watering can, shovel, and slingshot in my letters. I keep the letter with the slingshot on the other side of the mail because I usually don't use it.
- gold watering can
- silver fishing rod
- silver shovel
- silver slingshot
- silver net
which takes up 4 to 5 spaces. I only have the axe out when I need to chop down any dead perfect fruit trees and the wet suit when no one's suggested a PWP for the day.
I only put them in my letters when I'm talking to a camper I want. I didn't know they'd ask for tools, but I learnt that when Bob asked for my normal watering can.
Yep add me to the list that use their letters! I keep them in order as well (otherwise it really bugs me!)
Mine go as follows:
Silver Shovel (Will change to gold once Cyrus decides to build be a Golden Clock!)
Gold Fishing Rod
Silver Net (Pesky Tarantula and Scorpion still missing from my collection)
Golden Watering Can
Golven Axe
Golden Slingshot
Wetsuit
Then I leave a couple empty so I can quickly stash something if I don't quite have enough room, and I leave one spot letter free for Time Capsules (yes they give ya nothing but still pretty cute) and for my mail that I get everyday
