Do you have villagers that ruin your island tune when you talk to them?

I'm actually pretty happy with the way it sounds with all my current villagers! Especially Sydney. She makes it sound cute and exotic.

But on my brother's island.. He has this beautiful piece as his island tune, but when you talk to Julian he just.. well, he slaugthers it. It sounds so bad. It's hard to explain, but he makes it sound sad somehow and some notes seem to be off-key. I'd be pretty disappointed to have a villager I really like, only to hear a bad version of my island tune every time I talk to them!

Different species also seem to add their own 'vibe' to an island tune. Like birds having those little chirpy sounds (in general, maybe not all of them?). I really like those. They make island tunes sound cute and happy.

Do your villagers do your island tune justice? Which villagers don't? And do you feel there are certain species that make island tunes sound better/worse? Discuss!

mine doesn't really bother me as my town tune is hilarious and i have a right laugh everytime my villagers speak lol

my sister's town tune however is from spirited away and i love julian but he and sherb actually wreck that song aha

My town tune is "Departure", from Hunter x Hunter, specifically the concluding lyric "nando demo tachiagare!".

Honestly half of my villagers make it sound bad, usually because they distort the pitch and key (Colton especially makes it sound wretched). Raymond makes it sound the best I think, because the upbeat "mew mews" of his tune suit the melody. Overall though I think it's fun, bad or good.

When I talk to Apollo, the airy tone of the town tune associated with him is beautiful. When he actually sings in the plaza, though, not so great.

My tune is Beware the forest's mushrooms from Super Mario RPG and I think no one can ruin it. The most different ones are Wolfgang's really deep on a bass, and the creepy tone that Lucky gives it. Clay's is also cool, it's like he's singing it himself, going like "mimimi mimi mimiiii".

So it's not just me that thinks Julian ruins tunes, good to know. Maybe it's a horse thing? (Yes I know he's a unicorn!) I don't have any horses to compare with.

But I used Sweet Caroline for my NL town (called Beantown so I had to and I'm not even a Red Sox fan), and the elephants slaughtered it. I had Eloise and Tucker and the drums just sounded like noise.

everyone sings it nice , but some villagers like tybalt makes the tune go wrong.

My villagers do my island tune just fine, its Isabelle who when she first sings it to you in town hall really butchers it
does she do that on purpose/is it suppose to be funny? bc she sounds awful, but I still love her of course

My tune is Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts! It sounds okay with some of my villagers like Teddy and Marina, and I even think my horses do a good job at it! But others such as Peanut and Portia just totally distort the pitch or key or some other thing about it in a way that makes the song a little unrecognizable and they almost all sing it too fast--not a big deal though, I still like hearing how they do it! I also had Midge in my campsite and actually loved the way it sounded with her. But I guess that doesn't apply to all birds because oh man, I had Jitters in the campsite too and all the little extra trills that he added completely messed up the song. I would never have recognized my own island tune if I didn't already know what song it was!

My town tune is a part of Mitaiken HORIZON from Love Live Sunshine, and when I talk to Vladimir it sounds like he’s farting it off-key.

Yes, several. I had to make a minor adjustment to my tune and now I don't really notice it at all. I think the worst offender was Sherb. Every time I would talk to him it would bug me, so it probably played a role in me letting him go (but the main reason was he just didn't fit on my island, his house was too similar to Audie's and I accidentally helped Reneigh give him a heinous brown dress that he wore all of the time and never took off no matter how hard I tried to fill his wardrobe with better clothes or complaining to Isabelle).

I haven't thought about this, but there's definitely some villagers that I prefer my town tune on more than others. My town tune is actually the default town tune in Wild World so it's really nostalgic for me. It sounds better on most of the villagers that were in that game than some of the newer ones that have different sound effects when the town tune is played.
