I have paths and I really like them! I think they look really pretty when they're done nicely and I love when people lay them out carefully. I love dirt paths too but I just don't have the patience, so I admire the dirt paths others have made instead!
I do have paths and probably won't live with only one or two variations. I usually have more than five. I like mixing them up and use them to decorate PWPs together with flowers. Some look a bit awkward during winter though, so I can't wait until the season ends next month lol
I have paths, but it's hard for me to make them look good. They kinda look awkward right now, but I'm hoping once winter ends and I have a little more time, I can make it look better with the bushes and trees
Yep, I like paths because they help me get around faster, if I am just running blindly though town I end up in pitfalls or having to curve around trees and stuff so it takes longer, but on a path I know I wont run into anything or accidentally kill flowers etc etc so it's much easier to get around as fast as possible. =D
my paths are surrounded by blue and pink hydrangeas which was inspired from the scene in spirited away when chihiro was rushing through those flowers with haku. such a beautiful scene! i also scattered some yellow and white flowers around them and on the side as well as with clovers and some weeds. if only grass in ACNL was 3D looking. like with little ruffles and creases. would look much more realistic. anyways my 3ds is lost atm but ill post a pic when i find it
I never had a path in my Gamecube, Wii and Ds town. But since day 1 i placed patterns down to make a path. And once i got the sewing machine in the able sisters i changed it to a cute pattern. and i do change the pattern quite often depending on the seasons.
Thanks for all the replies so far! Apparently most people do have paths, and you're different from the crowd not to have paths. Man, times have changed. Paths were never such a big thing in previous games. I'm guessing it's so popular now because of grass wear and the many decorating options.
I don't like paths but I use them to prevent villagers from moving into certain areas, after Coco built her house right in front of a bridge and Cole and Ribbot became really REALLY close neighbours. I'll remove all paths as soon as possible, because I prefer a natural look.
I use starry, blue-and-green paths, very ornate, in my town of Starail. That, combined with blue roses and blue hydrangea bushes, help to give it that celestial feel.
In my second, shared town, Paragon, I'm creating dirt paths. I want it to be a mix between Arabian and old English, and so it has to be very natural.
Three of my towns with QR paths. My last two towns will maybe have some QR stone patterns scattered around, but they won't be heavily laid down like that cause they are both forest towns. One will have clover lined paths, and the other will just be mapped out with bushes and trees and flowers.
i have only layed out a wooden path so far for my future japanese themed town and to partially prevent move ins on bad spots. when i get a second house and start shaping my town more i will probably put in more.
Yes, I do! I've only started putting paths down a few days ago, and my town's about.. half covered by now. I find it really relaxing for some reason.
It's really satisfying to see it all come together as well. Especially with so many interesting paths to choose from, and to decorate with. X)
I have recently setup my borders for my future dirt paths. The borders are made of seashells, fruit, bells and anything in between, so things will be pretty ugly for a while. At least I can see the progress I'm making as I go, which would be difficult with patterns.
