Do you guys hate this or is it just me...?

You should always make it apparent how long you will hold a villager after a winner has been determined. Somewhere in the your auction/cycle rules stating,

"You must make time to pick up your new villager within a 24-hour period beginning at the end of the auction. If you cannot do this please make an effort to inform me in your bidding post how much time you'll need. Please don't bid at all if you have no intent to retrieve your villager in a timely manner or the bells to back up your bid."

If anyone complains after losing a villager because they failed to pick up a villager on time, or are trying to gather the necessary funds, then you can simply redirect them to your rules.

Ultimately it's your decision with what you want to do. Even if you didn't specifically state a time frame you would like for Fauna to be picked up in, I would assume it's common courtesy to let someone know if they can't pick them up right away since most people who sell villagers do not wish to hold them for too long. But to be fair to this person I would wait till the end of the day and if they don't respond by then, go ahead and give Fauna to someone else. It's not your fault it took forever for the other person to respond once you've waited a fair amount of time.

I used to do the same things on my cycling lol. It really gets in the way. That's why I would specify if I wanted a villager gone immediately and I would request that if someone can't come pick them up or if they don't have room to politely not bid or ask for them.

From what you've said, it seems that they haven't even contacted you since winning the auction and hasn't even told you how long until she can pick the villager up or give any explanation as to why she can't do it right away. That's pretty rude in my opinion and you have a right to be annoyed. It's not unreasonable to expect them to at least contact you within 24 hours.

Oh god this was so annoying when I was giving away villagers in my cycling town ono
They'd say that they want the villager, but then they would go offline and I'd have to wait until the next day or so. And I usually have a rule which states that I'll hold for 24 hours, but it kinda drags down the whole process, you know?

That, or when they are getting ready to pick the villager up, they say that they changed their mind because they 'already have max villagers' or 'saved for a dreamie'. Literally a waste of time and I've been in this situation quite often and they end up being voided.

Just make up your mind ughhh TT_TT
