Do you find Kapp'n to be creepy or charming?

Kapp'n is one of my favorites! I don't mind his innocent flirting. He sings about his wife a lot and it's obvious to me that he's deeply in love with her.

I really like Kapp'n! I'd ride a boat alone with him just to humor him. I think he's pretty cute, actually!

I?m so happy I?m not the only one here who likes Kapp'n. Please don?t judge, but I think he is even hot! xD As hot a as a turtle can be anyway. I?m not alone in this, look:

If you picture him like that, his flirting is actually kinda flattering xD I think he is really charming because he keeps his mind on his wife and the flirting is very innocent.

For me, whether or not Kapp'n is a creep can be resolved with one question.

Has he ever commented favourably on how nice my hair smells?

If the answer to that question is 'yes' then nothing is going to ever budge me from my judgement of creep, Kapp'n.

If I picture him like that, I'm grossed out. I wouldn't take kindly to an adult married man flirting with me. A cute little turtle, okay. He's harmless and he's just flattering me, while talking about how much he loves his wife. But a man? I'd cuss him out.

I love him! His songs are really cute & funny, and I look forward to them every time. I think he is certainly the whimsical old sailor, and he does love his wife.

I think it's flattery, and playful--because your character design is meant to be aged somewhere between a kid & young adult--the "older" characters call you a whippersnapper & such...I think you are meant to be quite young.

And NO...before people use that as an excuse to paint a creepy figure out of him..."oh quite young, that makes it WORSE!" blah, blah, blah...
I reminds me of NORMAL older family members who boost their daughter/niece self esteem by saying how pretty she grew up to be & jokes that don't translate well written down, but in the context of self-confidence boosting it's actually quite normal and nice.

But thanks to real creeps, people these days are ultra paranoid that everything is creepy, even an innocent sea-turtle. :(
It's truly reading too much into a G-rated game, where all the characters are designed to put a smile on your face.

I understand as I've known some horrible men in my life, but it doesn't mean all perspective has to be warped to make any affection from a male, even an animated turtle suddenly creepy.

But I can understand, if something makes you uncomfortable, it makes you uncomfortable, and that's completely valid.

He's not creepy so much as annoying :U I always skip the song on the way to the island.

i think hes fine. i like to annoy him and get called a 'shirmpy little scamp' by him lol

He was extremely creepy in Wild World (especially since I played it as a 10 y/o) and replaying WW he still is. But they toned him down in New Leaf, so he's alright I guess.

Really? You only talk to him for a couple of minutes in the cab and then you never see him again.

I find him charming. he's like those old men who are funny and nice to young girls (in a NONpedophilic way)

You took me wrong or maybe I didn?t explain myself. That?s not a man, it?s a manga-ish representation of the same character with different features. It?s still not a real human being. But even if it were a man, and I do see all the animals in animal crossing as people, there would be nothing wrong with it. But I also tend to see even real life animals as people and I?ve fallen in love with cats. If you take me literally I guess it?s gross but I don?t mean it that way. It?s all platonic xD

He's kinda creepy to me. Especially how I sometimes ride to the island with only my brother. And his comments are kinda weird. That is why we usually avoid the song. ._. I mean, I get it's only a video game, but it kinda weirds me out.

I guess sometimes he can be funny... he's still a creep though. ;v;

I quite like him as well. I really appreciate that, despite the flirtatious nature he's got (which a lot of older men display toward women for some reason... but it's much less acceptable IRL), he spends so much time singing about his wife and daughter. He cares so much about them, it's adorable. I think he's one of those types who just loves to drop harmless innuendo here and there but has a heart of gold.

I had to look up the definition of manga: "A style of Japanese comic books and graphic novels, typically aimed at adults as well as children." I guess I just don't get it. I still see an ugly human male with green hair. LOL

He reminds me a lot of a cab driver, in a good way - when I was still a kid, some of the older European taxi drivers in my city would talk to me the way Kapp'n talks to my character.

It was really cute, and made me happy - Kapp'n makes me happy too.

I do agree, he seems to make a lot of unnecessary comments to females when riding with them. Since I'm a guy, I play as one, and even then he makes comments about girls he's seen. He's way too creepy imho opinion, and needs to go back to being in the intro like in Wild World.

I find him kinda creepy. I think it's because he's married now, with a young daughter, and still flirts with female characters. In past games, he didn't bother me as much, since i just thought of him as a sweet old man. I also just don't like random people making those kinds of comments at me in the first place.
