JUST for the sake of choosing a map and for the thrill of finding out which villagers are at the station to welcome you ?

I won't restart since I like my town(s) too much, but I do think about it now and again

who else has this urge sometimes, although you won't actually go through with it

Sometimes, I do, actually. Just for the feeling of starting afresh I feel like it sometimes but, I soon decide to not. ^^;

Sometimes because working towards getting everything is fun. I'm at the point where I've done practically everything in my town now.

But at the same time, I wouldn't want to restart. I worked too hard to get practically every item in my catalog and get my town to where it is today. So if I wanted a new town, I would just get a new cartridge.

exactely, that's why I have four towns (well actually not totally correct: that's why I bought my 3 children their own game :) )

I do! I believe I'm on my fourth town, but I did kind of ruin it by mistakenly time traveling a month forward.. I've never seen so many weeds *Shudders*. I think I'll be sticking with this one until the next game comes out or whatever. I'm enjoying my villagers and I'm really having fun with the collecting process of fish and bugs.

I do this because I regret my river layout. But I refuse to because I need to go for once, a year in a town without TTing.

I do. I'm kind of addicted to map resetting. I have a fourth game that I'm resetting right now. I haven't found a map that I really like yet, but I've seen a lot of interesting layouts and villagers.

had the urge many times but resisted for fear of having to work so hard again to collect all fish etc

Honestly? No.

I made the mistake of restarting twice after I initially got the game at release, and both times were incidents that I regret deeply. I've had my town for a year, and I really love it the way it is.

The starting few weeks of a town are the absolute worst for me, and I wouldn't want to go through that again unnecissarily. I don't really have the yen to see a set of fresh faces waiting for me at an unfamiliar station, because I'm so fond of the villagers that I have, that I've gotten to know really well.

I don't mean to be a downer, or anything. I'm just the type that likes permanence and stability.

oh you're not a downer, on the contrary...

Most definitely, yes. That was actually the most fun part about resetting. However, I like to think that once I found a good map, resetting would be useless since I take animal crossing as a parallel life on my 3DS. In a sense, that's the purpose of the game, which is the biggest attraction to me.

But yeah, I can totally understand that, lol. Seeing the new town, new fruit -- even the new color of the train station or the town hall -- and the new villagers that you might get, are always very exciting. :)

I am at that point with my second town. Right now its somewhere between a cycling town and a town I have upgraded. I enjoy the fact that I can cycle every villager out and get alot of turnover. But I am bored with the town and am itching to find a new town to begin again. I have the luxury of being able to transfer everything I want to save to my original town though, it will make it much easier.

All the time. But I love this town, so maybe I'll find the cart I lost a year ago at some point. :3 I actually want to make a food-based town called Essen, so there's that.

Yes, since my first town is pretty much finished, there isn't much to do there...so that's why I bought another cartridge lol. I've restarted that town a few times, and now I'm in a good stable place with that.
