Do you do pre-planning for your town?

The police station is up for consideration, I don't know if I want it there, I might want some more "park things"... But I don't know where else to put it Dx
I always knew I wanted the caf? at the park, so that you can bring your coffee to the benches and picnic blanket and sit there and have a great time and aahhh.

Wow, I love what you've done there. I hadn't even considered excel sheets or grids - laid down paths between town hall, event plaza, re-tail, and villager houses when I first unlocked the qr machine and went from there a little at a time. I've chopped down entire orchards, demolished pwps to move them elsewhere, etc. Too indecisive!
You guys are all...AWESOME! I don't have a head for this sort of thing and my town is a GIGANTIC mess. Stuff hodge-podge everywhere. I don't think it's even fixable. I love it, tho.
Even with a new town or the extra 3rd one (yes, I'm THAT in love with this game) I don't know if I am really capable of planning. Maybe if I get enough bells sometime someone can come in and help me. Ugh...

Ii always plan out my town, but i was a noob and i didnt reset for my map. Now i have a horrible map, so i just plan as i go c:

I sincerely enjoy playing with city planning (in fact, it was this aspect that made me interested in the AC franchise in the first place!), and often sketch out many things. I work less with grids though, and more with overall feel- dead spots and pesky PWP placement would crush my dreams otherwise, and still find ways to do so. I might edit this post later with one of my basic drawings-!
There are people, like myself, who do not mind helping out for free. u v u

Oh yeah, I feel like planning is DEFINITELY necessary if you want to avoid dead spots. I guess if your layout is simple enough you can just make sure to cascade, but some things are more complicated... and especially with bushes where you may not have all the ones you need in the right order, so you gotta decide "Okay I don't have all my blue hydrangeas yet... will planting all the pinks create issues? Should I only plant some of them first?"

In all seriousness,I would very much like for you to visit and see my town and see if you think it can be made better. My paths are windy and weird. I have the general feel for what I had wanted such as colour and fairy tale stuff, but the result is a jumbled mess.
. If you are willing, maybe we can hook up in the next day or so and you can visit? My hubby and I are meeting with two realtors tomorrow and one on Monday, but I MUST get my ACNL fix.
