Do you dislike analog stick controls in FPSs?

I am not a big fan of analog sticks when it comes to FPSs. Something about them seems sluggish to me, and it seems even harder to control while you're aiming when you're moving.

For me, it's gotta be either PC or Wii controls. Mouses make aiming much more nimble and accurate, as well as efficient when you're moving. Using a Wiimote to aim is also pretty well done in games like MPTrilogy and WaW, but it's not as precise as a mouse.

(I also could have just put "first person" games, but since not all of them really require you to aim at something and shoot, I put FPSs. Third person shooters count, too.)

What do you guys think about analog controls in FPSs? Are you very good with analog controls? Are you bad at them? Do you care either way?

nah,i hate em,just makes the game that much more difficult, especially when u don't have a mouse like me,(darn track pad D:<)

Ah, good topic.

Personally, I prefer the mouse. Speed is limited to how fast you can move your hand when using a mouse. Analog sticks are pretty slow and sensitivity never helps. For example, if one plays Call of Duty on PC and then moves to a console, they will see some immediate differences. On an analog stick controller, once somebody starts shooting at you from behind, you can pretty much forget turning around and trying to kill them because you won't move fast enough. When using a mouse, if somebody shoots you from behind, you can move around fast enough to actually get a few shots off. As for the Wii, I don't see why people see it as accurate. It frustrates me.

Heres my whole big blown up thingy about it:

I have used Analogue sticks because my first consoles were the Playstation and PS2, also i've used the Xbox + Xbox360 before playing the Wii, so i do like analogue sticks.
On the wii i detest analogue sticks for FPS so i dont use them.
On Pc Joysticks are better than a mouse imho

I disagree, I know opinions are opinions but it's either

A: The buttons are too clustered together and I hit the wrong one

B: The buttons are to far apart making my fingers go all over the place

There are some happy middles though.

I like sticks for FPS

This, exactly.

I could only play a FPS game with Wii controls. I've played both analog stick and mouse ones, and I absolutely hated them. But the Wii controls of Metroid Prime: Trilogy and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (certain elements of the game, that is) are extremely well done. I just wish they'd make more Wii Zapper games like Link's Crossbow Training, because the Wii Zapper is also a great way to play.

I like both, but right now I prefer analog. I used to prefer a mouse, but I started going to halo/gears party's and have adjusted.

I like both setups honestly, but analog sticks don't bother me. Easy to control and use. That is, unless you're slamming your thumbs down on them whenever you see another player.

I'm absolutely horrid at FPS's regardless of control schemes so it doesn't really matter. XD I do like being able to walk around and such with the analog sticks though.
